Preface Journal of Buffalo Science, 2012 Vol. 1, No. 1     1 Preface Inaugural Issue of the Journal of Buffalo Science For the past two decades I have engaged myself with studies on buffalo sciences which further led me to establish a journal. This effort was facilitated by the Lifescience Global publisher who supported me, as the Editor-in-Chief making this journal available all over the world. Journal of Buffalo Science is an international peer-reviewed veterinary journal covering all aspects of veterinary sciences relating to buffaloes. It publishes high quality original articles, review articles, case reports and short communications as well as other scientific and educational articles. It further facilitates the distribution and implementation of new ideas and techniques relating to clinical veterinary practice, with the ultimate aim of promoting the best practices. The journal is an essential reading for veterinarians primarily engaged in Buffalo related veterinary sciences. A buffalo being a very quiet and intelligent animal has a unique importance. It is domestic but rustic, faithful and friendly, with rich a history. Many countries worldwide employ it as a draught animal; however it also produces meat, horns, skin and particularly milk that further provides cream, butter, yoghurt and a variety of cheese, including the delicious mozzarella. Therefore safe and healthy production of buffaloes is a matter of concern. It is hoped that this journal will fill a gap in knowledge and understanding for those concerned with the science of buffalo production as well as the ones who are merely interested in being updated with the latest information on buffaloes.  This is the Inaugural Issue of the journal which addresses itself to everyone concerned to ‘Buffalo’ in an objective and scientific fashion. The material presented in this journal is composed out of 16 Research Articles, 2 Review Articles and 2 Short Communications. We have attempted to increase the number of original scientific articles in each edition, and provide a more regular flow of relevant reviews. A number of Case reports have been rigorously analyzed and only those of substantive interest are included. Of course these improvements are only possible with the support of the large band of volunteers including the Associate Editors, Regional Editors and Editorial Board members and the Journals Management Committee, as well as the staff at the publisher, ‘Lifescience Global’.  You are requested to forward the information about journal to all of your friends, teachers, colleagues and students.
