En este trabajo presentamos algunas definiciones sobre la cultura estadística, describimos su importancia en la sociedad actual y presentamos algunas de las componentes imprescindibles para conseguir ciudadanos estadísticamente cultos que puedan entender la información estadística presente en los medios de comunicación.Statistical literacy is a concept that has aroused considerable interest among statistical education researchers and there is an ongoing discussion when describing its elements. In this paper, we present some definitions of statistical literacy, describe its importance in today society and present some of the essential components to achieve statistical literacy in such a way that statistical literate citizens can understand the statistical information present in the media
