Conflictul de opinii axate pe problemele lumii contemporane se fundamentează la doi poli. Unul dintre aceştia este concepţia creştină despre lume, iar celălalt concepţia umanistă seculară. Prima susţine existenţa unui Creator şi a unor legi divine. Ultima neagă şi se secularizează de aceste concepţii.
