Assessment of the difference in the awareness of construction engineers in Ho Chi Minh City about advantages and disadvantages when implement building information modeling (BIM) technology

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is evaluate the difference in the perception of civil engineers in Ho Chi Minh City about advantages and disadvantages towards Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technology. Data was collected by questionnaire and analyzed by the test on the difference between two sets of population. The result of data analysis shows that awareness of the advantages and disadvantages of BIM technology of frequently used engineers has higher value, as well as comments on the level of use and future development of BIM are closer to reality. However, the overall perception of the two groups of engineers did not differ much. It could be said that the awareness of BIM's technology of engineers has not learned deeply yet and it is very hard to find a difference between the perception of engineers who know and have not yet to know BIM technology
