Los "praefecti fabrum" oriundos de las provincias hispanas : una nueva aproximación

Abstract

The aim of this article is to determine whether the praefecti fabrum were members of the equestrian order. Thanks to a prosopographical study of all the Spanish prefects of the fabri known to date, based upon epigraphic sources, it will be shown that they didn’t always acquire the equestrian rank.El objetivo del presente trabajo es de averiguar la pertenencia al orden ecuestre de los praefecti fabrum. Gracias a un estudio prosopográfico de todos los prefectos de los obreros hispanos conocidos hasta la fecha, basado en fuentes epigráficas, se llega a la conclusión de que no siempre obtuvieron el rango ecuestre.The aim of this article is to determine whether the praefecti fabrum were members of the equestrian order.
