Sibley Indian Office Fort Osage Georgetown April 27th 1816 Sir I address a letter to you on the 22nd inst. wherein stated that Gov. Clark would give you disorder for the proportion of presents which had been required for the tribes of Indians within his control. I have on reflection, concluded to send the whole amount for presents, to the Governor – so that you will expect no order from him on the subject and so I have written him. You will proceed as directed to furnish the annuities to the Great & Little Osage tribes for the years 1815 and 1816 –  I am ____ ___ T.L. McK.

Sir, You will on receipt of this, proceed with as little delay as possible, to furnish the Annuities due to the Great Osage, and Little Osage tribes of Indians, for the present year. Viz $1500 in such articles of Merchandise as are usually distributed to them, and at their cost prices. You will be carefull to observe the usual forms of Invoices, receipts &c, and on their being prepared you will forward them to this office-  And your Invoices, as usual, sixteen p cent for transportation. Sibley Esqr U S F Osage  Dear Sir, It seems that the amount of Merchandise delivered by you to the great and little Osages is Two Thousand Dollars, instead of Three Thousand Dollars being the amount due them for the years 1815 & 16- That is, two annuities to the Great Osages, each for $1000- and two to the little Osages; each for $500-  Will you have the goodness to inform me as early as possible, of the cause of the difference.
