This way is defined by the theory and practice o f the Morphological Approach to Spaces. As its name indicates, this approach studies the form o f spaces on the basis o f whether or not they satisfy determined social expectations. This approach involves specific methodological procedures and concepts. These have been applied here in the South Commercial Sector o f Brasilia, both in its current layout and in proposed renewal projects. These application aim to show the performance o f each o f the forms analysed. Into its limits, this dissertation will attempt to demonstrate and test the concepts and applicability o f the morphological approach to spaces. It is divided into four parts. Chapter One describes the foundations o f the theory and its history. Chapter Two containts a description o f the theory. Chapters Three and Four concern its applications. W e will then draw conclusions about the performance o f the theory in this w ork with suggestions for new researches
