in the high-risk category; and half of all LTOs scoredin the moderate-risk category. More DOs had a juven-ile arrest for a sexual offence and were convicted as anadult for a separate sexual offence. DOs had moreprior sentencing occasions for sexual offences, whilemore LTOs had post-index convictions of breach and/or charges or convictions for a sexual or violentoffence. Non-significant differences were found acrossother variables, demonstrating that DOs and LTOs areless dissimilar than hypothesized, and instead are morealike. This study centres on a sample more focused andclinical in nature; demonstrates congruency with previ-ous studies; more thoroughly examines unique varia-bles; and examines paraphilic and other psychiatricdisorders, providing more psychological perspective ona mostly criminological topic.Recommendations: This study may provide morecomprehensive understanding for assessment and treat-ment of this unique population; help identify otherhigh-risk offenders; and provide information about fac-tors influencing judicial decisions concerning DOs andLTOs. Transsexuals also have increased chances ofhaving experienced maltreatment during childhood. IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 and TNF-α are examples of inflamma-tory cytokines which act as messengers regulating ourimmune system. Imbalanced levels in such cytokinesare associated with psychiatric disorders.Objectives: To evaluate differences in IL-1β, IL-6,IL-10 and TNF-α levels and exposure to traumaticevents in childhood and adulthood, we compared agroup of transsexual women (DSM-5) to a group ofnon-transsexual men (respectively, n = 31 and n = 34).Methods: Both groups underwent a structured inter-view protocol, where sociodemographic information,mood and anxiety symptoms (DASS-21 scale), child-hood maltreatment (28-item Childhood TraumaQuestionnaire), explicit discrimination (BrazilianExplicit Discrimination Scale) and suicidal ideation(Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale) were eval-uated. After the interview, participants were invited tohave blood samples drawn for IL-1β, IL-6, IL-10 andTNF-α levels analysis.Results: Transsexual women were more exposed toprejudice and discrimination (mean= 6.81 S.D.= 3.57)than were non-transsexual men (mean= 4.00 S.D.=3.23) (p = .002). Likewise, people diagnosed with GD(mean= 43.03, S.D.= 14.04) experienced significantlymore childhood maltreatment (p = .046) than did non-transsexual men (mean= 36.61, S.D.= 11.13), especiallyemotional and sexual abuse (respectively, p = .001 andp = .040). However, no differences in any cytokine lev-els were observed.Conclusion: Gender Dysphoria alone does not seemto play a role in inflammatory markers. However, theimpact of hormone therapy in inflammatory cytokinesin transsexual women is not clear. In the presen-tation we will focus on the therapists’ attitudes towardsthe instrumental use of the body.Method(s) & Sample: 46 in-depth interviews withPolish sex therapists representing various therapeuticapproaches were carried out to elucidate the influenceof diverse concepts of healthy sexuality on the sexo-logical practice.Findings & discussion:We have observed a great var-iety of norms regarding sexual health. The topic ofinstrumental use of one’s own or partner’s body emergedas one of the most controversial and important for defin-ing a sexual norm. Within this topic we identified threethreads: body use for mercantile purposes (sexual surro-gates and workers), for purposes resulting from internal-ized social expectations as to the role of the spouse, andfor satisfying the needs of one partner only (e.g. instru-mental use of other’s body for one’s own pleasure).Limits in the acceptance of these various forms ofbody use were strongly conditioned by therapist’sleading moral values, adopted psychological theories ormedical norms, and personal attachment to culturalprescripts regarding sexual activity in marriage.Recommendations: The goal of sexological treat-ment is regarded by various therapists as unambiguous:the client’s well-being. Despite this ostensible consen-sus, our research shows that the client’s well-being maybe interpreted in very different ways. The phenomenaperceived by some sexologists as pathological andrequiring treatments, by the others are treated as nor-mative and even worthy of affirmation.
