This project has investigated the regulation of Private Military Companies (PMCs) through a case study of the current conflict in northern Mozambique and the PMCs involved. Following and introduction of the historical role of PMCs and the relevant regulatory framework, the case study was conducted. Here it was found that the involved PMCs, Wagner Group and DAG, was either too obscure and clandestine to regulate in the case of Wagner Group, or somewhat possible nationally in the case of DAG, but posing serious questions to the sufficiency of international regulation. Discussion the expansion of international regulation, it was assessed, that the current type of warfare and the structure of the international system, would both cause a further proliferation of PMCs, as well as greatly limit the possibility of effective regulation of them
