This thesis examines climate communication towards children at the age of 7-11, with focus on the movie “The Lorax” instructed by Chris Renaud and the book “Victoria &amp; Verdens-målene: Isbjørnen” written by Jesper Tornbjerg. Since climate change is a major part of socie-ty’s contemporary problems, it is important to communicate it in the most optimal way. Oth-erwise, psychological insecurity may arise for the child. For this purpose, the thesis uses cogni-tive- and adaptation-oriented theories from Jean Piaget and Göte Klingberg. The theories are then processed in relation to analysing our material, in order to uncover how climate changes are portraited. In analysing the book and the movie, we have made use of different methods within the methodology of hermeneutics. Furthermore, the thesis rises doubt upon Piaget and Klingberg’s theories and criticizes their relevance towards the chosen material. Finally, the thesis determines that the book has a lack of exiting elements, contrary to the movie, as a re-sult of the communication methods used. In this context we conclude that our results, based on our analysis, will not be applicable to different materials, because they will produce a dif-ferent outcome
