Cystisk fibrose (CF) er en sygdom som statistisk set forekommer ved én af 4.700 fødsler i Danmark. På trods af den forekommer så sjældent, så er det en meget alvorlig sygdom, med dødelig udgang. Forskere er begyndt at udforske Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR) med henblik på at kunne modificere sygdommen væk. Nogle af de første tilfælde man har gjort brug af CRISPR på menneskelige kønsceller var i 2015. I dette projekt vil vi gerne fokusere på de etiske aspekter der afgører brugen af CRISPR på CF. Vi tager de forskellige etiske synspunkter, og sætter dem op imod hinanden for at se hvad de hver især mener om genmodificering ift. CRISPR. Vi har som udgangspunkt kigget på pligtetik samt nytteetik. Vi er kommet frem til følgende konklusion; de etiske aspekter der vil afgøre brugen af CRISPR er sikkerhed, begrænset tilladelse i form af udvælgelse, og hvorvidt det er etisk forsvarligt at udrydde sygdommen CF.Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a disease that occurs once in every 4.700 births in Denmark. Despite the fact that it rarely occurs it’s a disease that limits the patients’ lifespan to around 30 years old. Scientists have started to investigate in Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR).In this following project, we’d like to focus on ethical aspects that determine the use of CRISPR on CF. We are going to compare the different ethical perspectives and whether or not they think the CRISPR technology is suitable, where we’ve taken deontological ethics and consequentialist ethics as a basis of ethical views.We have come to the following conclusion; the ethical aspects that will determine the use of CRISPR are safety, limited authorization in the form of selection, and whether it is ethically justifiable to eliminate the disease CF.<br/
