I dette projekt bliver der undersøgt om UBI kan være et rentabelt alternativ til den nuværende danske velfærdsstat. Grunden til dette er at UBI er blevet fremført, som en løsning til det nuværende velfærdssystems problemer. For at undersøge dette skal der først definere hvad der menes med UBI, velfærdsstaten og koble de to sammen for at finde ud af hvad der menes med UBI i Danmark, samt hvordan UBI vil se ud i det danske velfærdssystem. Herefter vil der blive redegjort for nogle forsøg omhandlende negativ indkomstskat (NIS), samt indsamlet empiri i form af kvalitativt interview, samt teorier og begreber vi finder relevant til besvarelse af vores problemformulering. Redegørelsen bliver efterfølgende brugt på analysere hvilke incitamenter individer har til at arbejde. Her blev det klart at det bl.a. er præstations, relations samt økonomisk motivation som drev mennesker. Derefter blev der kigget på hvordan UBI ændrede disse motiver, og her blev der analyseret at det primært var det økonomiske motiv som der undergik den største ændring. Herefter bliver der diskutere, i hvilket omfang UBI vil ændre det nuværende danske velfærdssystem. Der kan konkluderes, at menneskers incitamenter til at arbejde, ikke vil ændre sig så meget som først antaget samt at UBI kan være et rentabelt alternativ til den danske velfærdsstat.In this project will there be examined whether UBI can be a viable alternative to the current Danish welfare state. The reason for this is that UBI has been suggested as a solution to the current welfare system problems. To investigate this we must first define what the meaning of UBI, the welfare state and connect the two together to figure out what the meaning UBI in Denmark is, and how UBI would appear in the Danish welfare system. There will hereafter be explained some experiments dealing with negative income tax (NIT), as well as empirical data in the form of qualitative interviews, as well as theories and terms we found relevant for answering our research question. The report will subsequently be used to analyze the incentives individuals have to work. Here, it became clear that the particular is performance-, relations and economic motivation that drives people. We examined how UBI changed these motives and the analysis showed that it was primarily the economic motive, which underwent the biggest change. Then there will be discuss in which extent UBI will change the current Danish welfare system. It can be concluded that people's incentives to work, will not change as much as first thought and that UBI can be a viable alternative to the Danish welfare state
