Resumé: Dette projekt undersøger mulighederne for at ændre udnyttelsen af arealerne omkring Limfjorden, for at finde en langtidsholdbar løsning, der tager hensyn til både miljø og økonomi. Ved at analysere løsningsforslag fra relevante aktører og teorier indenfor milljøøkonomi vil det vurderes hvilke(t) der synes mest hensigtsmæssigt for at beskytte og genoprette naturen og vandmiljøet, med udgangspunkt i Limfjordsområdet. Derudover vil inddragelsen af planlægnings teori bidrage til en vurdering af mulighederne for at implementere ændringer i de allerede eksisterende systemer. På baggrund af projektets analyser, konkluderes det, at den løsning der er mest bæredygtig og samtidig økonomisk rentabel, er at private fonde går ind og tager ansvar for genopretningen af naturarealer. Disse er uafhængige instanser med en økonomisk råstyrke, der gør dem til en oplagt kandidat, hvis de formår at blive mere transparente, så deres værdi for samfundet kan synliggøres. Abstract: This paper investigates the possibilities of changing the exploitation of the areas surrounding the Limfjord, in order to finding a long lasting solution, with regard to the environment and the economy. By examining suggested solutions from relevant operators and theories from environmental economics, an assessment of which appear most expedient to protect and re-establish nature and the aquatic environment will be made. In addition will involving [PRR] contribute to an assessment of the possibilities of implementing alterations to the already existing systems. In the light of the papers analysis, it can be concluded that the most sustainable and economic cost-effective solution would be for the private foundations to take responsibility for the restoration of the natural areas.
