Dette projekt omhandler problemstillingen om, hvorvidt beskyttelse af minoriteter påvirker ytringsfriheden. Vi har taget udgangspunkt i et single case-studie omhandlende en mail udsendt inden studiestart i september 2019 på Institut for Kunst- og Kulturvidenskab på Københavns Universitet. Denne mail indeholdt et par gode råd til underviserne på instituttet om, hvordan de bedst kunne inkludere binære og non-binære transpersoner i deres undervisning. Vi har valgt at udarbejde en spørgeskemaundersøgelse for at undersøge, om mailen har påvirket undervisere på andre undervisningsinstitutioner. Vi har taget udgangspunkt i undervisere på Roskilde Universitet. Denne problemstilling har vi analyseret i både et magt og etisk perspektiv. Vi har benyttet både generel magtteori, samt Michel Foucaults teori fra hans genealogiske tidsperiode. Derudover har vi benyttet teori om etik, herunder pligt-, nytte- og ansvarsetik. Vi har derefter diskuteret, hvorvidt beskyttelse af minoriteter påvirker ytringsfriheden på baggrund af vores valgte teorier. Til sidst har vi konkluderet at, mailens gode råd ikke påvirker undervisernes ytringsfrihed.This project deals with the problem of whether protection of minorities affects the freedom of speech. We have used a single case-study concerning an e-mail sent, before the beginning of the semester in September 2019, from The Institute of Art and Cultural Science at Copenha- gen University. This e-mail included a couple of good advice for the teachers at the institute regarding how they could include binary and non-binary transgenders in their teaching in a better way. We have chosen to produce a questionnaire survey to analyze whether the e-mail have affected teachers at other educational institutions. We have asked teachers at Roskilde University. Moreover, we have analyzed the problem in a perspective of power and ethics. We have used both general theories of power and Michel Foucault’s theory from his genea- logical period. In addition to that we have used theories of ethics, including ethics of duty, utilitarianism and responsibility. Based on the chosen theories, we have discussed whether the protection of minorities affects the freedom of speech. In the end we have concluded that the good advice of the mail did not affect the teachers’ freedom of speech
