This project revolves around the attempt to increase cigaretbutts in a specific designed ashtray inspired by Hubbub’s Ballot Bin. Because of the Danish smoking legislation against indoor smoking from 2007, the cigaretbutts outside on the ground is increased by 71 %. Therefore this project seeks to find a solution to decrease the amount of cigaretbutts from the ground of Frederiksberg Gymnasium.The solution to the problem is created on the basis of the theory of Nudging, where a different ashtray in principle wouldn’t have an effect, but does it in practice. The smokers’ behavior at the school will be analyzed by theories of Social Psychology, and by using the method of Time Series Design, the project's product is implemented at the school and is observed over a period of two weeks. The results after the implementation will be analyzed to see if the ashtray has had an effect on the smokers and the amount of cigaretbutts on the ground, which is also a part of the discussion. Furthermore the project intends to discuss the ethics in our nudge and whether the location for our ashtray has been the most appropriate place for it to work effectively.The ashtray designed from Hubbubs Ballot Bin decreased the amount of cigaretbutts on the ground of Frederiksberg Gymnasium and at the same time increased the amount of cigaretbutts the both the new and the school’s remaining ashtray. The redesigned ashtray has had a positive impact on the smokers’ conduct and from this the project draws its conclusion
