The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a global social and economic disruption and led most of the world's countries into both a health and an economic crisis. In a comprehensive situation such as Covid-19, it is the leaders and authorities of each countries’ responsibility to inform and guide the citizens through the crisis. The communication must be structured in a way, so it does not incite to panic but instead makes the citizens feel safe, while it also underlines the importance of the message and the severity of the situation. This project seeks to examine the rhetorical devises the Danish prem-ier minister Mette Frederiksen use throughout her speeches presented at the Covid-19 related press conferences held the 10th of March and the 15th of August. Furthermore, it seeks insight in the rhe-torical changes seen in Mette Frederiksen's communication due to the increasing knowledge about the Covid-19 disease. To examine this, we have performed an argumentation and framing analysis of the two speeches men-tioned above. The analysis includes the theories on practical argumentation of Charlotte Jørgensen &amp; Merethe Onsberg together with Niels Møller Nielsens theory on the principle of charity. The framing analysis includes theories of Mie Femø Nielsen &amp; Svend Skriver, Kirk Hallahan, George Lakoff and Zoltán Kövecses with a focus on re-framing and the use of metaphors. The analysis is followed by a discussion on the ethical soundness of Mette Frederiksen’s dissemina-tion. The discussion will focus on whether Frederiksen's communication can be seen as manipulative in an attempt to ensure that most citizens are healthy and well. This discussion will include the ethical principles presented by Jørgen Husted and Jan Foght Mikkelsen's theory concerning dissemination ethics (formidlingsetik)
