The study examines how policy makers incentivize the transition from informal to formal economy. The argumentation is based on the analytical framework from policy papers related to labour and is carried out as a comparative policy analysis of Bangladesh, Ghana and Brazil, trying to identify political and structural approaches leading to a more formalized economy. A focus is put on Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) as those have been described as “growth engines” or the transitional process. The discussion of these findings gives a basis to see different trends of policy implementation and guarantee the transfer of knowledge and argumentation
