In 2019 the World Health Organization categorised vaccine hesitancy as one of the top ten threats to global health. The so-called anti-vaxxers exist in groupings all over the globe as well as in Denmark. This paper utilises the method of reception analysis to investigate how people who are against the HPV vaccine engages with certain media products. The media products represent the Danish governmental institution, Lægemiddelstyrelsen, and the founder of a political party, Mads Palsvig. Through qualitative interviews and Stuart Hall’s notion of encoding and decoding as well as rhetorical elements such as logos, pathos and ethos, three participants have provided insights of who and what to trust in a sphere of information on the world wide web.In 2019 the World Health Organization categorised vaccine hesitancy as one of the top ten threats to global health.
