Sammensætningen af bakterier, og dennes indflydelse i den menneskelige krop, har fået mereopmærksomhed de seneste år. Teknologiske fremskridt har gjort det muligt at belyse ogdifferentiere det bakterielle genom mere dybdegående og feltet har sandsynligvis potentiale påmange område. Det ses at bakteriesammensætningen kan have en indflydelse på immunforsvaret,hvilket er relevant i forhold til behandlinger som eksempelvis cancerimmunterapi. Formålet meddenne rapport er at belyse hvorledes mikrobiotaen spiller ind på effekten afimmunterapibehandling af typen anti-PD1/L1 og anti-CTLA-4, ved melanomcancer. Rapportenudfolder mikrobiomets og immunforsvarets mekanismer og med udgangspunkt i fem studier,anskueliggøres forskellige parametre, der formodes at have indflydelse på ovenstående. Detempiriske grundlag på området er endnu mangelfuldt, idet studierne er meget små og der er ikkeet særlig stort sammenligningsgrundlag, grundet en bred metodediversitet. På baggrund af dettekonkluderer rapporten, at det på nuværende tidspunkt ikke er muligt definitivt at konkluderehvordan mikrobiotasammensætningen påvirker immunterapibehandlingen af malignt melanom.Dog viser flere resultater dog indikationer på at der er en mulighed for at mikrobiotaen kanmoduleres, for at øge effekten af immunterapien.The composition of bacteria and its influence in the human body has gained more attention duringthe last years. Technological advances have made it possible to elucidate and differentiate thebacterial genome more thoroughly and this field might have a potential in many aspects. It has beenshown that the bacterial composition may influence the immune system, which is relevantregarding treatments such as cancer immunotherapy. The purpose of this report is to investigatehow the microbiota affects immunotherapies of the type anti-CTLA-4 and anti-PD-1/L1 in thetreatment of malignant melanoma. The report examines the mechanisms of the microbiome andthe immune system, and on the basis of five studies it will be illustrated which parameters, that areassumed to have an impact on these mechanisms. The empirical foundation on this field is yetinadequate as the studies are very small and because is it not possible to directly compare themdue to broad method diversity. The report thereby concludes that at the present moment it is notpossible to definitively conclude how the microbiota composition influences the immunotherapytreatment of malignant melanoma. However, several results indicate that there is a possibility thatthe microbiota can be modulated to enhance the effect of immunotherapy
