This present study undertakes a case in which the popular communication format of podcasting, exploring an immersive experience, is put in the context of a museum. The paper includes a discussion of Miwon Kwon’s theory about ‘Site specificity’ supported by Sanne Krogh Groth and Kristine Samson’s ‘Urban sound ecologies’. Our methodology has been inspired by arts-based research through recorded memos, mind maps and drawings, which also have been leading factors in the design of our experimental sound production, Læsøhusets Fortællinger. This project brings an interdisciplinary perspective into the field of sound studies. Our two-piece analysis leads towards an understanding of the reception of our intention of the podcast on-site versus off-site through theories presented by Ib Poulsen, Michael Geoghehan and Dan Klass. Finally, we discuss the complexity of sound and how it should be recognized as an effective way of creating a holistic museum experience. This study concludes that an experimental sound production can create ‘circulation’ between the self and the site resulting in a rewarding visit, which may lead to ‘sustainability’ in a museum context. Hence, a sound production can in fact enable a bodily shift in time and space. <br/
