Abstract

The report provides a review of three different international test methods where testing of the performance and function of extinguishing systems intended for vehicles and machines is presented. The test methods show that there are large differences in execution even if the basic processes are based on similar principles. The results of the tests with the limitations given in the methods can be used for the design of extinguishing systems based on risk analysis leading to installation instructions for the vehicles or machines to be protected. To be able to set more performance-based and other types of procurement requirements than just refer to the Swedish method used today with the aim of getting more robust systems installed.
