Abstract
ResumenDesde la visita de Jean Jaurès a la Argentina en 1911,las ideas del francés tuvieron creciente recepción enel socialismo argentino: después de su muerte, seríasu figura de «demócrata» la que aglutinara a un hori-zonte discursivo más amplio que el socialista. La ideade un socialismo ético, como traducción filosófica deun modo de comprender el socialismo como prácti-ca reformista, queda adherida al pensamiento deJaurès, y es retomada por un intelectual comoAlejandro Korn. Éste, hacia los años veinte, interpretaen clave retrospectiva el desarrollo del socialismoargentino bajo tal sello filosófico, ubicando a Juan B.Justo como su emblema. Resulta interesante con-trastar dicha lectura con los propios juicios de JuanB. Justo: sobre Jaurès, y sobre el tópico del socialis-mo ético. El contraste entre Korn y Justo revela másuna dispar comprensión de ambos acerca de los nue-vos tiempos de las ideas, que una diferencia doctri-naria sustantiva.

AbstractSince Jean Jaurès visited Argentina in 1911, their ide-as had increasing reception in the Argentine socia-lism: after his death, it would be his figure of «demo-crat» the one that agglutinated an ampler horizonthan the Socialist. The idea of an ethical socialism,as philosophical translation of a way to understandthe socialism as a reformist practice, stays adheredto the thought of Jaurès, and is retaken by an inte-llectual like Alejandro Korn. This one, towards theTwenties, interprets in retrospective key the deve-lopment of the Argentine socialism under such phi-losophical seal, locating Juan B. Justo as its emblem.It turns out interesting to contrast this reading withthe judgments of Juan B Justo: about Jaurès, and aboutthe topic of the ethical socialism. The divergence bet-ween Korn and Justo reveals more a difference in theunderstanding of the new times of the ideas, than asubstantial opposition about socialist doctrine.
