A product such as hydrated carbons (carbohydrates), lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids play significant roles in plants metabolically. But there are other natural organic products manufactured by plants, some of the products are complex molecules, which are not primary metabolites. These biosynthetic products have possesses a variety of therapeutic merits in drug discovery. Some biosynthetic products show numerous appreciable therapeutic effects making them beneficial for trimming down polypharmacy and as viable candidates for the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension in patients.
