Abstract
Historical book collections are an important element of the cultural heritage of the former Republic of Poland. Their wide dispersion requires reconstruction works. Possible directions of such activities - historical and bibliological, documentational, and conservational - are presented on the example of the collection of the Baworowscy Library. The necessity of interdisciplinary analyses undertaken by specialised teams running specific research programs is indicated
