I Know My Shoes Stink,====== 
That's Why I Took Them Off 
High School Poetry Competition

Bradshaw High School 
neanderthals 
in the halls, 
Cro-Magnons do the teaching. 
I Don't Knows 
sit in rows, 
flinching at the speeching. 
the courtyard here 
is bright and cheer, 
and I sit on the bench­
my feet are bare, 
I sniff the air 
raped by an awful stench 
T hey pass me by, 
wondering why, 
why the hell I'm fooling 
seems to me 
we shouldn't be 
so eager for dull schooling 
my smelly toes, 
fat pimentos, 
wriggle in the sunlight 
they may run 
from spring and sun 
I know that it's alright
