Abstract

Fabbri’s career as a dramatist, which is characterized by eminently Catholic plays and staging techniques influenced by the plays of Pirandello, did not come into conflict with the severe censorship during Franco's regime. His plays were widely accepted by the public and critics (with a few exceptions). It is important to note that the playwright never accepted that the translations or adaptations of his plays had been allies or adversaries of his success, as only the author’s plays and themes can make him internationally acclaimed.El teatro de Fabbri –de corte eminentemente católico y con planteamientos escénicos ciertamente pirandellianos– no entró en conflicto con la férrea censura que imponía el régimen franquista y gozó de la aceptación del público y de la crítica (con alguna excepción). Es importante subrayar que en ningún momento el dramaturgo reconoce que las traducciones o adaptaciones realizadas hayan sido aliadas o adversarias de su éxito, ya que la resonancia internacional le llega a un autor de la mano solo de sus temas
