Investigation of Cursive Italic Handwriting Errors of Primary School Teacher Students

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the cursive italic handwriting of classroomteacher department students and to review the spelling mistakes made by the studentsof the classroom teacher department. In order to achieve this general purpose, theexamination of the writing of the letters according to the uppercase and lowercasestatus, the italic and upright status of the writing and whether it conforms to theguideline lines are considered as criteria. The research is structured with documentanalysis and content analysis methods, which are qualitative data collectiontechniques. The third grade students, who are studying in a training faculty in theCentral Anatolia region, are the research group. The data was created by collecting thewriting books used by the students studying in the third grade within the scope of thecourse and analyzing the spelling errors by document analysis method. As a result ofthe research, it was determined that the most mistakes were made by the male teachercandidates, when examined according to the lowercase and uppercase, more mistakeswere made in the lowercase than the uppercase. When the text is examined accordingto the italic status and the guideline; it was seen that the vast majority wroteappropriate. It was observed that the majority of the part that did not write inaccordance with the guiding lines was written with a blank space without complyingwith the line lines, while the other candidate teachers wrote it by overflowing theguiding lines.</p
