“Cada um em seu lugar”: domínios territoriais Xucuru-Kariri e Kiriri

Abstract

Currently, tension and conflict characterize the relationship between the Xucuru-Kariri and Kiriri chiefs in the Caldas City, in brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Both lead families in their recreations of villages in this region. The process of territorial formation Xucuru-Kariri and Kiriri in Caldas City is explained, firstly, by the exchange of lands and alliance established by their generation above when they lived in brazilian state of Bahia and, second, by their particular cosmopolitics. Finally, the hypothesis on territorial domains of indigenous Xucuru-Kariri and Kiriri is supported by a diachronic analysis of interactions between leaders in the state of Bahia and description of their cosmopolitical principles, introducing a perspective beyond indigenous relations with the State in the understanding of territoriality processes.Atualmente, tensão e conflito caracterizam a relação entre caciques xucuru-kariri e kiriri no município de Caldas (Minas Gerais, Brasil). Ambos lideram famílias em recriações de aldeias no sul do estado. O processo de formação territorial dos Xucuru-Kariri e dos Kiriri nessa região explica-se, primeiro, por troca de terras e aliança estabelecidas nas gerações anteriores às dos caciques quando viviam na Bahia e, segundo, por suas cosmopolíticas. Enfim, a hipótese sobre domínios territoriais de indígenas Xucuru-Kariri e Kiriri é sustentada com análise diacrônica de interações entre lideranças no sertão baiano e descrição de seus princípios cosmopolíticos, introduzindo uma perspectiva para além das relações indígenas com o Estado no entendimento de processos de territorialidade
