Biographies Leanna Ginsburg is a first-year Professional Performer’s Certificate flute student at the Lynn Conservatory where she studies with Jeffrey Khaner. In June 2018, Leanna graduated with her Master of Music from Northwestern University, where she received the Walfrid Kujala Scholarship. She is a winner of the Chicago Musicians Club of Women 2018 Scholarship Competition. In September 2016, Leanna was named the second flute fellow for the 2016-2017 season of the Eugene Ballet Company in Eugene, Oregon. In May 2016, Leanna graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Purchase where she studied with Dr. Tara Helen O’Connor. She has participated in the Chautauqua Music Festival, National Music Festival, and Eastern Music Festival.   Georgiy Khokhlov was born on the 12th of October 1992 to a musical family in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He began playing cello at the age of 7 at the Uspensky Music School. In February 2002, he moved to Philadelphia to continue his studies with notable musicians of Philadelphia Orchestra such as Yumi Kendall, Efe Baltacigil, Hai-Ye Ni, and others. He has also participated in the Philadelphia Sinfonia youth orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gary White. Mr. Khokhlov earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the Mannes Conservatory in New York City under the tutelage of Marcy Rosen while spending his summers at various musical festivals such as Bowdoin, Garth Newel Music Festival, Dali Music Festival, and NYSMF. He also has taken part in contemporary music festival New Music at the Point in Vermont. Since completing his studies in New York City, he’s studied at the Peabody Conservatory with Alan Stepansky and at the Lynn Conservatory with David Cole, where he continues his post-graduate studies. Georgiy plays on an 1879 Herman Macklett cello.  Kayla Williams began private violin lessons at age four in Tallahassee, Florida, and soon after joined the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra. She switched to viola at 11, and after playing viola for only eight months, she was chosen to participate in the Florida Music Educators Association All-State Orchestra. She is currently working towards a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance, with Ralph Fielding at the Lynn Conservatory, with an expected graduation 2019. Kayla’s chamber ensemble, The Lyre Trio, was awarded 2nd prize at the Lynn Conservatory Chamber competition and performed in the Mostly Mozart Festival in Miami, Florida in May, 2017.  In 2016, Ms.  Williams traveled to Kingston, Jamaica under the auspices of Lynn Conservatory to perform multiple concerts and venues with the Robertson Quartet. A dedicated music lover, Kayla listens to and performs classical, bluegrass, new grass, Celtic, and jazz.   Making her professional debut at age 10 with the Kammergild Symphony, Kristine Mezines has soloed with many orchestras including the Town and Country Symphony, St. Charles Symphony, St. Louis Young People’s Philharmonic, Webster University Symphony, and the St. Louis Symphony.  She has been invited to present solo recitals at the Sheldon Concert Hall, Christ Church Cathedral, E. Desmond Lee Concert Hall, and Missouri State University. Kristine was a principal performer at the St. Louis Municipal Opera, a guest artist at the opening ceremony of the International Piano Pedagogy Teacher’s Conference, and was featured on NPR’s “From the Top” show.  Being in high demand for contemporary works of great difficulty she specializes in brass accompaniment having worked with such artists as Allen Vizzutti, Joe Burgstaller, Benjamin Pierce, Wiff Rudd, John Aley, Dave Zerkel, Demondrae Thurman, Patrick Sheridan, Gerald Sloan, Adam Frey, Alexandra Zacharella, Lee Harrelson, Helen Tyler, Douglas Lindsey, Raul Rodriquez, Matthew Hightower, Matthew Shipes, and Aaron Vanderwheele. She has served as staff accompanist for the Southeast Tuba Euphonium Workshop, one of the Regional International Trumpet Guild Conferences, the Great Plains Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference, the Fort Smith Band Camp, and the Midwest Tuba Euphonium Day. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in collaborative piano at Lynn Conservatory where she studies with Lisa Leonard.   Suhao Bai began piano studies in his native China at age five and in 2012 he was admitted to the Attached Middle School of the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Su Bin. While at the Wuhan Conservatory he performed in master classes given by Huang Du and Hu Xiao in addition to classes presented by visiting artists from the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. In the 2014 he won first prize in the Xiangyang International Piano Competition in the the Junior Group and the Liszt Group and was selected to perform at the Awards Concert. In 2014 he performed at the Beijing International Music Festival and was coached by Pavlina Dokovska, Director of the Piano Department at the Mannes School of Music, and Marc Silverman, Director of the Piano Department at the Manhattan School of Music. In 2015 he won second place in the “Changjiang Cup” Piano Competition in the professional group in Hubei Province. He came to  the United States in 2016 for undergraduate studies with Roberta Rust at the Lynn Conservatory of Music, where he was awarded a full scholarship. He has subsequently performed in master classes given by Peter Serkin, Stephen Hough, Jure Rozman, and Stanislav Ioudenitch. He has been a finalist twice in the Lynn Concerto Competition and since coming to Florida, has performed at the Wold Performing Arts Center and Amarnick-Goldstein Concert Hall in Boca Raton and at the Harriet Himmel Theatre at City Place in West Palm Beach.  Zulfiya Bashirova was born in 1991 in Uzbekistan. From 1999 to 2010, she studied violin in the Uspensky Music School for Gifted Children in Tashkent. Her teacher, Zayko Mark, was an honored worker of culture of Uzbekistan. Then, in 2014, she finished studying at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan where she studied with Yudenich Vladimir. In 2010, she won the first prize in A. Glazunov international Competition of Violinists and Cellists in Paris. Zulfiya took part in the international summer academy “Classic Open Fest” in Tolyatti in Russia. In 2015, she performed the full twenty-four caprices for violin solo by Niccolo Paganini during one evening in the organ hall of State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. In 2016, she performed the Etude in 60 variations on “Barucaba” by N. Paganini. In 2018 she took part in Meadowmount School of Music summer festival as a full scholarship recipient. Zulfiya performs as a soloist with some of the leading orchestras of Uzbekistan with conductors such as Anvar Raimjanov, Eldar Azimov, Zakhid Haknazarov, Vladimir Neymer and many more. Zulfiya was a soloist and concertmaster of the chamber orchestra known as the “Soloists of Uzbekistan.” Nowadays she is studying at Lynn University with Elmar Oliveira.   Natalia Hidalgo began playing the violin at the age of eight in Miami, FL, and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Lynn Conservatory with Carol Cole. She has performed in master classes led by Michael Tilson Thomas, Ilya Kaler, Joseph Silverstein, Anne Akiko Meyers, and quartets such as the Emerson String Quartet, New Orford String Quartet, the Penderecki String Quartet, and the Jupiter String Quartet. Previously, she has attended Garth Newel Emerging Artists Fellowship Program, Vienna Summer Music Festival, Dali International Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Killington Music Festival, and the Orford Music Center String Quartet Workshop.     About the Friends of the Conservatory of Music Lynn University’s Friends of the Conservatory of Music is a volunteer organization that supports high quality music education through fundraising and community outreach. Raising more than $2 million since 2003, the Friends support Lynn’s effort to provide free tuition scholarships and room and board to all Conservatory of Music students. The group also raises money for the Dean’s Discretionary Fund, which supports the immediate needs of the university’s music performance students. Jon Robertson, dean Lynn Conservatory of Music  Jamaican-born maestro Jon Robertson enjoys a distinguished career as a pianist, conductor and academician. He began his piano studies with Ethel Leginska at 7 years old and made his Town Hall debut in New York City at age 10. A graduate of The Juilliard School of Music, he studied piano performance under Beveridge Webster, choral conducting with Abraham Kaplan at Juilliard, orchestral conducting with Richard Pittman of the New England Conservatory of Music and Herbert Blomstedt, former director of the Gweandhaus Orchestra (Germany). His conducting career spans the globe from symphony orchestras in Norway, China, Egypt, South Africa and Austria to the Redlands Symphony Orchestra in California, where he was principal conductor from 1982 until his retirement in 2016. Robertson is former chair of the Herb Alfred School of Music at UCLA. He continues to guest-conduct and to perform in concert as a member of the Cole-Robertson Trio.
