The role of perceived organizational support in the relationship between aggression and counterproductive work behavior

Abstract

Implicitnu agresivnost mjerili smo Testom implicitnih asocijacija za agresivnost (IAT-A; Greenwald i sur., 1998), a eksplicitnu Buss Perry skraćenim upitnikom agresivnosti (BAQ; Webster i sur., 2014). Percipirana organizacijska podrška nije značajan moderator povezanosti agresivnosti i nepoželjnog organizacijskog ponašanja. Ključne riječi: mjerenje ličnosti, eksplicitna agresivnost, implicitna agresivnost, percipirana organizacijska podrška, nepoželjno organizacijsko ponašanjeThe goal of this study was to examine whether the moderator role of perceived organizational support exists in the relationship between implicit and explicit aggressiveness and counterproductive work behavior. To do so, we conducted a survey on a sample of 210 participants who completed several questionnaires. Implicit aggression was measured by the Implicit association test for aggression (IAT-A, Greenwald et al., 1998), and the explicit was measured with Buss Perry aggression questionnaire (BAQ; Webster et al., 2014). Furthermore, perceived organizational support was measured with Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS, Eisenberger et al., 1986), and the frequency of counterproductive work behavior was estimated by the Counterproductive work behavior questionnaire which measures both individual CWB and CWB towards the organization itself(CWB, Bennet and Robinson, 2000).The results of the conducted research did not confirm the significant correlation between implicit aggression and counterproductive work behavior, while the correlation between explicit aggressiveness and counterproductive work behavior was significant both in the case of interpersonal and in case of organizational deviation. Perceived organizational support is not a significant moderator of the correlation between aggressiveness and counterproductive work behavior
