The present work is on the importance of storytelling has on children's lives. This study aimed to
identify how storytelling could contribute to the development of children's learning in early
childhood education. Here the concept of storytelling and its benefits, the story told as a
pedagogical practice, among other assertions, noting that the storytelling in the classroom
awakens the love of reading in children. We also present the story teller as a being a constituent
of ruse, gestures, tone of voice and facets. The research is characterized as a case study, which
aimed to extend the concepts of this research. The research subject was the teacher of the pre II
room. As data collection processes, we used the interview, observation room and informal
conversations. Data analysis was done in the form of dialogue, between the observations in the
classroom, the interview and bibliographic studies analyzed. By observing the classroom and
interview the teacher we have seen how the story was being told and room, and what purpose the
teacher wanted to achieve. In intention to develop learning in children effectively, this study
strengthens the importance of developing activities in the classroom through the art of
storytelling.O presente trabalho se constitui diante da importância que a arte de contar histórias tem na vida
das crianças. Este estudo pretendeu identificar como a contação de história poderia contribuir no
desenvolvimento da aprendizagem de crianças da educação infantil. Apresentamos o conceito de
contar histórias e seus benefícios, a história contada como prática pedagógica, entre outras
assertivas, destacando que a contação de histórias em sala de aula desperta o gosto pela leitura
nas crianças. Apresentamos ainda o contador de história como um ser constituinte de artimanha,
gestos, entonação de voz e facetas. A pesquisa é caracterizada como um estudo de caso, que teve
por finalidade estender os conceitos da presente pesquisa. O sujeito da pesquisa foi a professora
da sala do pré II. Como processo de coletas de dados, utilizou-se a entrevista, observação em sala
e conversas informais. A análise dos dados foi feita em forma de diálogo, entre as observações
em sala, a entrevista e os estudos bibliográficos analisados. Ao observar a sala de aula e
entrevistar a professora pudemos constatar como a história estava sendo contada e sala, e qual
objetivo a professora pretendia alcançar. Na intenção de desenvolver aprendizagens nas crianças de forma efetiva, o presente estudo se fortifica na importância de desenvolver atividades em sala de aula mediante a arte de contar histórias
