The objective of this monograph is to analyse and reflect upon the life trajectory of women
and their gender implications for the process of schooling of these women as citizens, based
on an understanding of literacy as a broad process of social insertion. But precisely, the
studies have focused on the educational process of students who attend one night school and
who have historically had their access to schooling restricted. Fieldwork was carried out at the
Desembargador Braz Baracuhy State School. Observation and intervention in the daily life of
these women was carried out by means of questionnaires, interviews and reports which
revealed the implications of gender in their school life. It was possible to establish how
important it is for the women to have their own space in the classroom. Our research allows
us to emphasise the relations of gender, to systematize and discuss the right to education,
women’s right to equality of conditions of access and permanence in the school environment,
equality between the sexes and respect for these women who fulfil a triple working day,
principally those women from the popular classes. When concluding this research it was
possible to conclude the importance of not forgetting the contribution of Youth and Adult
Education to the formation of these women as citizens.Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar e tecer reflexões a respeito da trajetória de vida das
mulheres e das implicações de gênero sobre o processo de escolarização da mulher cidadã,
entendendo o seu processo de alfabetização como amplo e de inserção so
cial.
Mas
precisamente, os estudos têm como foco o processo de escolarização de alunas que
frequentam um curso noturno e que historicamente tiveram o seu acesso restrito ao ensino
-

Baracuhy. O trabalho de observação e intervenção no cotidiano dessas mulheres foi realizado
através de questionários, entrevistas e relatos que evidenciaram as implicações de gênero na
sua vida escolar. Foi possível constatar o quanto é important
e que as mulheres tenham um
lugar privilegiado em sala de aula. O trabalho permitiu enfatizar as relações de gênero,
siste
matizar e discutir o direito à e
ducação, o direito da mulher à igualdade de condições para
o seu acesso e permanência no ambiente esco
lar, a igualdade entre os sexos e o respeito às
mulheres por realizarem uma tripla jornada, principalmente as pertencentes às classes menos
favorecidas. Ao término desta pesquisa foi possível concluir que é essencial não esquecer que
