This study investigated the social responsibility of the librarian with the
practice of bibliotherapy. To describes bibliotherapy, therapy through reading,
identifies locations where it can be used, the professionals who make use of
practical library. The importance of bibliotherapy in the library that has the
reading as the main activity. The overall objective of the research was to
analyze the activities of bibliotherapy in Singapore with a focus on the
involvement of librarians. Specifically it aims to: identify the institutions that
develop bibliotherapy actions; describe the activities (actions) of bibliotherapy
in these institutions; define the profile of professionals undertaking such
actions; verify the involvement of librarians in bibliotherapy actions. The study
methodology was based on the qualitative approach, the exploratory type
with characteristics of descriptive research. This is a case study where they
were used as data collection tools: the semi-structured business roadmap
and the semi-structured interview. The research sample were 3 Joao Pessoa
institutions: the Blind instituted Adalgisa Cunha, Home of Providence Carneiro
da Cunha and Hospital Napoleon Laureano, and the subjects were the
professionals who work with bibliotherapy practices in these institutions. From
the survey data it was found that the professionals who are involved with
bibliotherapy and the frequency it is used in the institutions surveyed. In the
results reported to the business script answers, described himself as was the
contact with the institutions, analyzed the questionnaire answers, it was
reported when the meetings took place and the professionals who worked
with bibliotherapy. It is expected that this issue will serve as a reflection and
awaken the sympathetic side of library professionals and other areas.Investiga a responsabilidade social do bibliotecário com a prática da

os locais onde pode ser utilizada, os profissionais que fazem uso da prática
biblioterapêutica. A importância da biblioterapia na biblioteconomia que tem
a leitura como atividade principal. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi analisar
as atividades de Biblioterapia em João Pessoa com foco no envolvimento do
profissional bibliotecário. Especificamente pretendeu-se: identificar as
instituições que desenvolvem ações de biblioterapia; descrever as atividades
(ações) de Biblioterapia nessas instituições; traçar o perfil dos profissionais
que desenvolvem essas ações; verificar o envolvimento do profissional
bibliotecário nas ações de biblioterapia. A metodologia do estudo
fundamentou-se na abordagem qualitativa, do tipo exploratória com
característica de pesquisa descritiva. Trata-se de um estudo de caso onde
foram utilizados como ferramentas de coleta de dados: o roteiro de visita
semiestruturado e a entrevista semiestruturada. O universo da pesquisa
foram 3 instituições de João Pessoa: Institudo dos Cegos Adalgisa Cunha,
Lar da Providência Carneiro da Cunha e Hospital Napoleão Laureano, e os
sujeitos foram os profissionais que atuam com as práticas de biblioterapia
nessas instituições. A partir do levantamento dos dados verificou-se quais os
profissionais que estão envolvidos com a biblioterapia e a frequência que ela
é utilizada nas instituições pesquisadas. Nos resultados relatou-se as
respostas do roteiro de visita, descreveu-se como foi o contato com as
instituições, analisou-se as respostas do questionário, relatou-se quando os
encontros aconteceram e os profissionais que trabalharam com a
biblioterapia. Espera-se que esse tema sirva de reflexão e desperte o lado
solidário de profissionais da área de biblioteconomia e de outras áreas
