This article present some of the aspects developed in the theoretical position
taken in the doctoral thesis being carried out under the title "College Teaching: from the curriculum to
teaching education¨ inscribed in the Doctoral Program at the School of Education in the University of
Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia. The construction of the research question arises from stating the
problem under a dialectical approach, where the thesis is supported by authors who see the curriculum
construction as an issue for education experts, and unknown to teachers. The antithesis on the other
hand, established through the review of the theoretical proposals which highlight teacher´s
participation in the development, implementation and improvement of the curriculum. To finally create
the synthesis, research as an hermeneutic approach, where analysis, understanding, and interpretation
revolves around the question: How do university professor teach under this new form of participatory
curriculum construction? Question that is observed at the Veterinary Medicine program at the
University of Antioquia where professors are responsible for building the Veterinary school
curriculum since 1995. The Synthesis, e.i. research, its development is established as a possible
compromise between the thesis and antithesis, searching for a possible relationship which can be
established or not, between the curriculum and the professors through their teaching practices
