Tiivistelmä. Diplomityö "Näköalaravintola Lohkare" on suunnitelmapainotteinen työ, jonka tavoitteena on ollut laatia luonnosehdotus Rukatunturin Saaruan huipulle rakennettavasta, talviurheilukeskuksen ympärivuotista käyttöä edistävästä ja tukevasta näköalaravintolasta.
Rukalla hiljattain käyttöön otetun gondolihissin ansiosta tunturin huipulla sijaitsevan näköalaravintolan toimintaedellytykset ovat nyt entistä paremmat. Ravintolarakennus tulisi sijoittumaan Saaruan huipulla sijaitsevien hissiasemien väliselle alueelle, josta aukeaa upeat näkymät kohti idänpuolen tuntureita ja uutta RukaValley -kylää.
Suunnitellun rakennuksen päätila on ravintolasali, josta kyseinen ravintolasta avautuva tunturinäkymä on tuotu mahdollisimman näyttävästi esiin.
Sääolosuhteet Saaruan huipulla ovat haastavat, minkä vuoksi rakennuksen julkisivujen materiaaleiksi on valittu kupari ja puu, jotka ovat kestäviä ja huoltovapaita. Rakennuksen kantavana rakenteena on CLT-massiivipuu, joka toimii myös ravintolan sisätiloissa näkyvänä pintamateriaalina. Rakennuksen vaikuttavin elementti on koko julkisivun mittainen ikkunaseinä, josta tunturinäkymä aukeaa.
Rakennus on muotoilultaan moderni ja minimalistinen. Se koostuu kahdesta, toisissaan kiinni olevasta vinokattoisesta osasta, “lohkareesta”, joiden katot laskevat vastakkaisiin suuntiin.
Rakennuksen kokonaisala on noin 600 m². Rakennus sisältää ravintolasalin, keittiön, henkilökunnan tilat, saniteettitilat sekä huolto- ja tekniikkatilat. Ravintolasalissa on 130 asiakaspaikkaa ja ulkoterassilla lisäksi noin 100 asiakaspaikkaa.Panoramic restaurant “Lohkare”. Abstract. The subject of this plan-oriented master’s thesis is a ski restaurant on the top of Ruka fell. The thesis introduces a draft proposal of a restaurant with the objective to support and advance the year-round use of the ski resort.
Recently opened Village-2-Valley gondola now gives better prerequisites for operation of the restaurant up on the top of Ruka. The restaurant building would be located on top of Saarua between the two ski lifts. The view from this location opens to eastern fells and new RukaValley.
The main facility of the building is the restaurant hall, from which the fell view opens through the window covering the whole facade.
The weather conditions on top of Saarua are challenging. Therefore, the main materials of the facades were chosen to be copper and wood which both are durable and maintenance-free. The supporting structure consists of CLT (cross laminated timber), which also serves as surface material inside the restaurant hall. The most effective element of the building is the spectacular view to the fells opening from the window covering the whole facade.
The architectural design of the building is modern and minimalistic. The building consists of two blocks having inclined roofs descending to opposite directions.
The area of the building is approximately 600 m² containing restaurant hall, kitchen, staff facilities, sanitary facilities, and maintenance and technical facilities. The restaurant hall contains 130 seats and the outdoor terrace extends the capacity with approx. 100 seats
