The Vietnam War started in 1961 when JFK sent advisors to South Vietnam, or it started August, 1964 with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. We lost 58,000 Troops, 300,000 were wounded, and found ourselves in a war that at the time cost $150 Billion. 2.7 Million people from the United States served in uniform during this war.
