Extensión a los Socios Locales de las Certificaciones de Calidad en la Cooperación al Desarrollo. Casos Español y Brasileño Downstream Extension to Local Partners of Quality Management Certifica- tions in Development Cooperation. The Spanish and Brazilian

Abstract

Abstract The parallelism that can be observed in the evolution of the development cooperation sector in Brazil and Spain, as well as in their focus on the improvement of the quality and the effectiveness and efficiency of the management, confers particular interest to the comparative study of the quality management instruments used in both countries, in order to exploit synergies and share experiences, as well as to explore the opportunities for further integration of their quality systems. In this paper, a comparative analysis is carried out between two pairs of similar quality management instruments applied in Spanish and Brazilian NGOs, leading to suggesting potential challenges and implications that would derive of the eventual downstream extension of the current quality certification requirements by European NGOs to encompass their counterpart organizations or partners in Brazil.
