Abstract

Dissertação de Mestrado em Política SocialO relatório aqui apresentado descreve o trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito do estágio realizado no Centro de Apoio Social de Oeiras do Instituto de Ação Social das Forças Armadas. O mesmo estágio correspondeu a uma fase específica do presente percurso académico, cujo objetivo é completar a formação através da inserção no mundo de trabalho, conhecendo a Instituição, o seu funcionamento e trabalho realizado pelas Técnicas Superiores de Serviço Social. Enquanto estagiária foi-me proposto a realização de dois trabalhos distintos: apoio na organização das III Jornadas de Serviço Social e caracterização dos beneficiários de forma a atualizar e alargar a informação existente, através da construção de um questionário e respetiva base dados. Procurou-se abordar um conjunto de tópicos específicos que se destacam quando em contacto com as políticas de uma instituição, de um sistema social organizacional. Dada a crescente necessidade de recorrer a respostas sociais, torna-se imprescindível compreender melhor as respostas e políticas existentes, de forma a dar resposta às necessidades da população envelhecida. Por estes motivos, os temas escolhidos foram o envelhecimento ativo e as respostas e políticas sociais existentes em Portugal. Procede-se, aqui, à caracterização da instituição onde decorreu o estágio e efetua-se a exposição do trabalho realizado.ABSTRACT The internship this report refers to took place in the Institute of Social Action of the Armed Forces’ Social Support Centre, in Oeiras. It corresponds to the end of the academic formation by entering the labour world, getting to know the institution, their operation and the work of the Technical Higher Social Service. As an intern I was challenged with two distinct goals: on one hand, I was asked to provide support in the organization of the III Conference of Social Work and, on the other hand, to upgrade and expand the existing data on the beneficiaries, through the construction of a questionnaire and its database. A set of different subjects was approached. The institution, as an organizational social system, has its own policies, and these, when confronted with those different subjects, provided specific feedback. Taking into consideration the always-growing need to understand the social responses, it becomes essential to understand them to their fullest, as well as the political responses. In that way, it is possible to meet the needs of the aging population. For these reason, the chosen subjects were: active aging and social and political responses in Portugal.
