From elongated spanning trees to vicious random walks
Given a spanning forest on a large square lattice, we consider by
combinatorial methods a correlation function of paths ( is odd) along
branches of trees or, equivalently, loop--erased random walks. Starting and
ending points of the paths are grouped in a fashion a --leg watermelon. For
large distance between groups of starting and ending points, the ratio of
the number of watermelon configurations to the total number of spanning trees
behaves as with . Considering the spanning
forest stretched along the meridian of this watermelon, we see that the
two--dimensional --leg loop--erased watermelon exponent is converting
into the scaling exponent for the reunion probability (at a given point) of
(1+1)--dimensional vicious walkers, . Also, we express the
conjectures about the possible relation to integrable systems.Comment: 27 pages, 6 figure
Alat Pendeteksi kemasakan buah semangka dengan metode perbandingan frekeuensi
Watermelon is one of fruit that consist of 90 % water with difference characteristics as red and yellow, seed or not. Farmers or sellers have some method to know the characteristic of watermelon by hitting watermelon to make a sound. It can identify quality of watermelon The sound can decided characterictic watermelon that is rip or not, with characteristic amplitude from the sound. Mic pre-amplifier received the sound to detect analog to digital converter before Microcontroller AVR ATMega 8535 . ATMega 8535 AVR microcontroller is used to store several types of sound used to determine the quality of watermelon. The result is displayed the LCD and LED Keyword: mic pre amplfier, microcontroller AVR ATMega 8535, LC
Analisis Pendapatan USAhatani Semangka di Inkubator Agribinis (Studi Kasus Petani Semangka Binaan Inkubator Agribisnis Universitas Riau)
Incubator of agribusiness is one of watermelon production center in Pekanbaru City. The land on Agribusiness Incubator is very suitable to grow watermelon, it is possible if planted watermelon produced will be good and quality. This research aims to determine the cost, revenue, and income of watermelon farming in the Agribusiness Incubator and to know whether the watermelon farming in the Agribusiness Incubator has been efficient. This research uses primary data and secondary data. Sampling technique in this research is Census method that is by taking all watermelon farmer in Agribusiness Incubator University of Riau, that is 6 farmers of watermelon. The analysis used qualitative and quantitative. Research shows that the production cost of watermelon farming in the incubator is Rp.13.025.148. Average production is Rp13.250 Kg with the selling price per Kg of Rp.2500. The average gross income of watermelon farming is Rp.33.125.000 while the average net income of Rp.20.099.852. The value of R/C Ratio and B/C Ratio of watermelon agribusiness incubator is 2,5. So, the additional benefit or acceptance is greater than the additional cost. Based on the R/C Ratio and B/C Ratio, it can be concluded that watermelon farming is feasible to be developed because it is very profitable
Watermelon Juice: Potential Functional Drink for Sore Muscle Relief in Athletes
L-Citrulline is an excellent candidate to reduce muscle soreness, and watermelon is a fruit rich in this amino acid. This study investigated the potential of watermelon juice as a functional drink for athletes. An in vitro study of intestinal absorption of l-citrulline in Caco-2 cells was performed using unpasteurized (NW), pasteurized (80 °C for 40 s) watermelon juice (PW) and, as control, a standard of l-citrulline. l-citrulline bioavailability was greater when it was contained in a matrix of watermelon and when no heat treatment was applied. In the in vivo experiment (maximum effort test in a cycloergometer), seven athletes were supplied with 500 mL of natural watermelon juice (1.17 g of l-citrulline), enriched watermelon juice (4.83 g of l-citrulline plus 1.17 g from watermelon), and placebo. Both watermelon juices helped to reduce the recovery heart rate and muscle soreness after 24 h.Actividad Física y Deport
RUSSIAN VERBS OF SPATIAL ORIENTATION STAND, SIT, LIE
The semantics of Russian verbs of spatial orientation is far from being simple or trivial; complex spatial concepts categorized in these lexical items are based on a number of cognitive structures that emerge from different modes of man’s interaction with the environment
Watermelon configurations with wall interaction: exact and asymptotic results
We perform an exact and asymptotic analysis of the model of vicious
walkers interacting with a wall via contact potentials, a model introduced by
Brak, Essam and Owczarek. More specifically, we study the partition function of
watermelon configurations which start on the wall, but may end at arbitrary
height, and their mean number of contacts with the wall. We improve and extend
the earlier (partially non-rigorous) results by Brak, Essam and Owczarek,
providing new exact results, and more precise and more general asymptotic
results, in particular full asymptotic expansions for the partition function
and the mean number of contacts. Furthermore, we relate this circle of problems
to earlier results in the combinatorial and statistical literature.Comment: AmS-TeX, 41 page
Analysis of U.S. Demand for Imported Melons using a Dynamic Almost Ideal Demand System
Melons constitute an important part of the U.S. fruit and vegetable industry even though they are produced only from May through December of each year. Import supplies from Latin American countries are used to make up for the domestic demand shortages. This paper investigates the U.S. demand for imported fresh and frozen melons using quarterly data on import volumes and unit prices. A static and a dynamic linear approximated almost ideal demand systems were estimated using ITSUR. Marshallian and Hicksian elasticities were used to analyze consumers’ responsiveness to price and income change in the short run and the long run.Agribusiness, Demand and Price Analysis, International Relations/Trade,

AN ANALYSIS OF FARM-RETAIL PRICE SPREAD FOR JAMAICAN FRESH FRUITS
This paper uses the relative price spread model to analyze the farm-retail spread for pineapple, pawpaw and watermelon in Jamaica. Our findings suggest that price increase in the retail market is not being passed down to pineapple and pawpaw farmers and only marginally to watermelon farmers.Demand and Price Analysis,
