Temporalized logics and automata for time granularity
Suitable extensions of the monadic second-order theory of k successors have
been proposed in the literature to capture the notion of time granularity. In
this paper, we provide the monadic second-order theories of downward unbounded
layered structures, which are infinitely refinable structures consisting of a
coarsest domain and an infinite number of finer and finer domains, and of
upward unbounded layered structures, which consist of a finest domain and an
infinite number of coarser and coarser domains, with expressively complete and
elementarily decidable temporal logic counterparts.
We obtain such a result in two steps. First, we define a new class of
combined automata, called temporalized automata, which can be proved to be the
automata-theoretic counterpart of temporalized logics, and show that relevant
properties, such as closure under Boolean operations, decidability, and
expressive equivalence with respect to temporal logics, transfer from component
automata to temporalized ones. Then, we exploit the correspondence between
temporalized logics and automata to reduce the task of finding the temporal
logic counterparts of the given theories of time granularity to the easier one

Un relámpago en la noche : interpretación de la relación entre temporalidad, amor y tiempo en F. W. J. Schelling
First, the article distinguishes, in Schelling´s philosophy, successivity and extaticoriginary temporality, and contends that the latter can be conceived as co-temporalization.
Secondly, an analysis of loveis advanced as an experience in which co-temporalization is consummated, and it is shown how in the erotic pathos, through an empathic movement of overdetermination, the ecstases are sublated as such and “condensed" in an instant of eternity.
Finally, the author differentiates temporality and the real-actual time that Schelling conceives as the continuity of discontinuous temporalities. Special attention is payed to the importance of Schelling´s thought for the current discussion on time.Fil: Garrido-Maturano, Ángel E..

New Media’s Presentness and the Question of History: Craigie Horsfield’s Broadway Installation
In the last three decades, media art (in both its analogue and digital forms) has been consistently defended in its alleged ability to, in the words of art critic Jean-Christophe Royoux, to “give concrete form to what, as a rule, vanishes from cinematographic time: the present.” Questions emerge, however, as to what exactly constitutes the present and, more importantly—in works that privilege presentness—how can the past and the future can still be productive categories of time? Indeed, such a privileging might be more problematic than initially thought. This, at least, is what comes out from a study by historian François Hartog who maintains that the prevailing regime of historicity today is not liberating access to the present but presentism: the turning of the present into an absolute value, whose absoluteness means a real disconnection from the past and the future. In such a regime, it is the possibility of history which is threatened with disappearance. This article seeks to examine the apparent incompatibility between new media art’s presentist inclination and the sense of history. To investigate this tension, it is imperative to look at artworks that address one of the main challenges of a culture obsessed with the present—the setting of the conditions of the possibility of history. I propose that Craigie Horsfield’s work is an original contribution to this line of investigation. Special attention is given here to the three main aesthetic strategies constitutive of the video installation Broadway (2006): the solicitation of attention, the temporalization of the horizon line and the convergence of two viewing positions—those of the spectator and the witness.Depuis les trois ou quatre dernières décennies, les arts médiatiques (autant dans leur forme analogique que numérique) ont été systématiquement défendus pour leur supposée capacité, selon les mots du critique d’art Jean-Christophe Royoux, à « donner corps à ce qui, par principe, disparaît du temps cinématographique : le temps présent ». Il importe toutefois de se questionner sur la nature du présent ainsi produit et, plus encore, sur la capacité du passé et du futur à demeurer des catégories temporelles significatives, tout particulièrement dans les oeuvres qui privilégient le présent. En effet, privilégier le présent peut s’avérer plus problématique qu’il n’apparaît de prime abord. C’est à tout le moins ce qui ressort de l’étude de l’historien François Hartog, qui maintient que le régime d’historicité qui prévaut aujourd’hui ne constitue pas un accès libérateur au présent, mais incarne plutôt une forme de présentisme, qui se manifeste par la transformation du présent en une valeur absolue, ce qui implique une véritable déconnexion entre le passé et le futur. Dans un tel régime, c’est vraisemblablement la possibilité même de l’Histoire qui est menacée de disparaître. Le présent article examine l’incompatibilité apparente entre l’inclination présentiste des arts médiatiques et le sens de l’Histoire. Pour étudier cette tension, il apparaît impératif de se pencher sur les oeuvres qui explorent un des principaux défis d’une culture obsédée par le présent : la mise en place de conditions de possibilité de l’Histoire. L’auteure maintient ici que le travail de Craigie Horsfield représente une contribution originale à cette problématique. In the chaos of today's society: The dynamics of collapse as another shift in the quantum anthropology of Heidi Ann Russell
The presented study introduces a new theoretical model of collapse for social, cultural, or political systems. Based on the current form of quantum anthropology conceptualized by Heidi Ann Russell, further development of this field is provided. The new theoretical model is called the spiral model of collapses, and is suggested to provide an analytical framework for collapses in social, cultural, and political systems. The main conclusions of this study are: 1) The individual crises in the period before a collapse of social, cultural, and political systems form the trajectory of a conical helix similar to a vortex. 2) The occurrences of crises in the period before a collapse have the shape of the trajectory on the surface of the circular cone with a convex wall narrowing up to its peak. The shape of this cone is based on the Fibonacci sequence coiled into the three-dimensional space. 3) The constant circular movement along the trajectory of crises can occur in exceptional situations in the development of social, cultural, and political systems; however, such a state is always temporary. In such cases, the trajectory of the crisis does not follow the Fibonacci sequence, but the shape of a regular helix. Remaining on the trajectory of a regular helix in the long-term is highly improbable for social, cultural, and political systems. 4) The creation of new potentialities after the final collapse of a system is explained by the conception of topological inversion, when the heretofore embodied part of the energy-information field returns to the global, wave-particle energy-information potential. 5) The global, wave-particle energy-information potential is a source of energy-information for future embodiments in the sense of the future collapses of wave functions
Making sense of political ideology in mediatized political communication: A discourse analytic perspective
Political discourse becomes more and more ‘mediatized’ nowadays but, as I argue in this article, mediatization should be considered neither as a testament to ‘de-ideologization’ nor as a restyling of the ‘inherently ideological’ contemporary political communication. Ideology, I claim, is a potentiality of mediatized political discourse and as such, it rests with the generic capacity of the latter to recontextualize symbolisms from the institutional past serving the ordering of the institutional present. How is the recontextualization of symbolic meanings facilitated by the aesthetic and affective qualities of different media genres? In what ways does recontextualized discourse serve the neoliberal order of the present? Lying at the heart of the ideological analysis of political communication, these are questions which can be insightfully addressed through a discourse analytics of mediatization as the one I apply here on two political advertisements from the Greek general election of January 2015

The systemic mind and a conceptual framework for the psychosocial environment of business enterprises: Practical implications for systemic leadership training
This chapter introduces a research-based conceptual framework for the study of the inner psychosocial reality of business enterprises. It is called the Inner Organizational Ecosystem Approach (IOEA). This model is systemic in nature, and it defines the basic features of small and medium-size enterprises, such as elements, structures, borders, social actors, organizational climate, processes and resources. Further, it also covers the dynamics of psychosocial reality, processes, emergent qualities and the higher-order subsystems of the overall organizational ecosystem, including the global business environment, which is understood as a macro-system where all the individual organizational ecosystems co-exist. In the applied part of the chapter, cognitive changes emerging within systemic leadership training are defined. Participation in systemic training causes changes in the cognitive processing of reality, more specifically improvements in layer-based framing, relativistic contextual orientation, temporality drift and meaning generation. All of these changes are components of the systemic mind, which is a concept newly proposed and defined by the present study. The systemic mind is a living matrix that is extremely open to acquiring new skills and new patterns of thinking, analyzing and meaning generation. It is processual and it can be considered as an ongoing process of continuous absorption of new cognitive patterns. Both the Inner Organizational Ecosystem Approach and the concept of the systemic mind provide a new theoretical background for empirical investigation in the fields of systemic and systems psychology, complexity psychology, organizational psychology, economic anthropology and the social anthropology of work
Towards a concept of «transcendere» in Husserl, Heidegger and Zambrano
The article develops an investigation of the concept of transcendere, around the concepts of transcendence in Husserl, Heidegger and specifically in María Zambrano’s book La Confesión: género literario. The author suggests that a concept of transcendere can be constructed on the basis of such fundamental notions as difference, movement and direction. The article goes on to argue that these notions create the conditions for an ontology that cannot be separated from ethics. The concept of transcendere may serve as a bridge between political and ontological thinking; the article suggests that this is the case in the thinking of María Zambrano.Partiendo de los conceptos de trascendencia en Edmund Husserl y Martin Heidegger, el artículo investiga el significado del mismo concepto en la filosofía de María Zambrano, a través de su libro La Confesión: género literario. A partir de esta investigación pretende desarrollar un concepto de transcendere. Este último concepto implica una interpretación específica de la filosofía del «ser» en María Zambrano, en que consta una importante conexión a las teorías políticas de la misma autora mediante un imperativo ético. El artículo se centra en las divergentes construcciones de diferencia en Husserl, Heidegger y Zambrano.
