    An Analysis of the English Gerund as Subject, Direct Object, Subject Complemet, and Object of Preposition

    The problem in this journal is gerund, verbal ending -ing and serves as a noun. Gerund differs from grammar construction in English because it is able to convert a verb into a noun by adding -ing at the end of the verb. At the same time, there is also a continuous tense form that adds -ing at the end of the verb. For students who start learning English will be confused with the form -ing that can be a noun and also a verb in the same sentence. The method used is the method of distribution, the method of data analysis into object analysis is part of the language itself. Objects in the distribution method are always part or element of the language being observed. In analyzing the data, the authors use qualitative methods. Qualitative research is a type of social science research that collects and works with non-numerical data and which seeks to interpret the meaning of the data being analyzed. In this study, researchers used descriptive design with the aim to analyze gerund as subject, direct object, complement of subject, and object of preposition at Tempo magazine in 2015. The author finds gerund formulation as follows: Gerund as Subject (Main + Main Verb + Complement), gerund as Direct Object (Subject + Main Verb + Gerund), gerund as Subject Complement (Subject + to be + Gerund), and gerund as Object of Preposition (Subject + Primary Keyword + Preposition + Gerund). The study found that Tempo magazine used gerund in magazines with higher gerund percentages as the preposition object. There are 8 gerunds as the subject, 5 gerund as a direct object, 6 gerund as complementary subject, and 23 gerund as the preposition object

    Based on observations of researchers in primary schools 25 Small Hill District IV Jurai student learning outcomes is still low, and the learning undertaken by teachers still use conventional methods.This resulted in low student grades, namely the achievement of the average value of MID students is 65.26, while the KKM specified school is 70. To the authors through this study tried to improve student learning outcomes on science subjects. The purpose of this study was to describe the planning, implementation and improvement of learning outcomes. This type of research is classroom action research (class action research), this study used aqualitative approach. Learning to use that to make use of audio-visual media n. Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) is prepared by following the steps using audio-visual media to create a fun learning activity that can improve learning outcomes in grade V IPA. While the students were taken as the subject of research are all fifth grade students of SD Negeri 25 Small Hill District IV Jurai. The research data was obtained using tests and observation. The results of the physical LUs any increase student learning, the test cycle I average student learning outcomes is 72.15 increased in the second cycle to 82, 14.     Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripskan upaya pengawas sekolah dasar dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang inovatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan supervise akademik di sekolah Dasar Binaan Kecamatan Padang Utara Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan sekolah (PTS) penelitian dilaksanakan SDN Binaan Kecamatan Padang Utara Kota Padang. Pendekatan yang digunakan observasi kelas, pendekatan bimbingan personal, setting tindakan sosialisasi PTS, Setting menggunakan empat tindakan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan persentase. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Pada saat awal siklus pertama indikator pencapaian hasil dari setiap komponen RPP belum sesuai/tercapai seperti rencana/keinginan peneliti. Hasil observasi pada siklus kesatu dapat dideskripsikan berikut ini Observasi dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2015, terhadap sepuluh orang guru. Semuanya menyusun RPP, tapi masih ada guru yang belum melengkapi RPP-nya baik dengan komponen maupun sub-sub komponen RPP tertentu. Satu orang tidak melengkapi RPP-nya dengan komponen indikator pencapaian kompetensi namun pada siklus dua kelemaham pada siklus satu dapat diperbaiki dengan menggunakan pendekatan supervise akademik dan mencapai Kriteria penilaian yang telah ditetapkan. Saran dengan menggunakan pendekatan supervisi akademik dapat lebih ditingkatkan sehingga kompetensi guru dalam menyusun rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dapat lebih baik. &nbsp

Code mixing is insertion of a piece of word other than that of your language, and you have no specific purpose or intention when doing communication. Code mixing is different from borrowing. Code mixing usually happens while people communicate in oral or written and in informal situation. In the case of code mixing, people sometimes mix two languages, particularly between national and a foreign language like English. However, code mixing does not only exist between the languages, there is also the mixing between national and regional languages. The researcher use GADIS to do this research. It was found that there were three forms of code mixing used in advertisement in GADIS. They were words, phrases and sentences which were put in the middle of the sentence of advertisements. Meanwhile, the use of code mixing in advertisements had many functions based on the purposes of communication, as we knew; advertisement was an advertiser's way to communicate to the consumer, reader in this case.
