    Medical Cyber-Physical Systems Development: A Forensics-Driven Approach

    The synthesis of technology and the medical industry has partly contributed to the increasing interest in Medical Cyber-Physical Systems (MCPS). While these systems provide benefits to patients and professionals, they also introduce new attack vectors for malicious actors (e.g. financially-and/or criminally-motivated actors). A successful breach involving a MCPS can impact patient data and system availability. The complexity and operating requirements of a MCPS complicates digital investigations. Coupling this information with the potentially vast amounts of information that a MCPS produces and/or has access to is generating discussions on, not only, how to compromise these systems but, more importantly, how to investigate these systems. The paper proposes the integration of forensics principles and concepts into the design and development of a MCPS to strengthen an organization's investigative posture.     Primary physical education, coaches and continuing professional development

More recently, some teaching of PE in primary schools has been undertaken by coaches (mostly football coaches). These coaches hold national governing body awards but do not hold teaching qualifications. Thus, coaches may not be adequately prepared to teach PE in curriculum time. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the perceptions of a group of community-based football coaches working in primary schools for the impact of a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme on their ability to undertake ‘specified work’ to cover PE in primary schools. The programme focused on four areas identified as important to enable coaches to cover specified work: short- and medium-term planning, pedagogy, knowledge of the curriculum and reflection. Results showed that for the majority of coaches the CPD programme had made them more aware of the importance of these four areas and had helped to develop their knowledge and ability to put this into practice in covering planning, preparation and assessment time. However, further input is still required to develop coaches’ knowledge and understanding in all four areas, but especially their curriculum knowledge, as well as their ability to put these into practice consistently. These findings are discussed in relation to the implications of employing coaches to cover the teaching of PE in primary schools and, if employed, what CPD coaches need to develop the necessary knowledge, skill and understanding for covering specified work in schools

    Urbanization in Indonesia has been growing rapidly, and is expected to accelerate in the future. It is envisaged that the urban population of the country will grow from 54.7% in 1995 to about 73% I the year 2020. The fast rate of urbanization and continued concentration have resulted in various problems of traffic congestion, overcrowding, shortage of affordable housing, environmental degradation, flash floods, waste disposal, stress-related diseases and the increase in demand for more and better urban services. This paper first introduces the concept of healthy cities and relates it to the aspect of physical development. After short overviews on the background of physical planning, the paper reviews the Indonesia physical planning system. The role of physical planning towards the achievement of sustainable development is then presented and this is allowed by a discussion on the role of physical planning towards the achievement of sustainable urban development in Indonesia, illustrated with a few examples of planning tools being used

Numerous hypotheses were made for material response based on first principles. Many of these hypotheses were tested experimentally. The proposed viscoplastic theories and the experimental basis of these hypotheses must be checked against the hypotheses. The physics of thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics, and the effects of defects, are reviewed for their application to the development of constitutive laws

    Development and initial validation of the Brunel Lifestyle Physical Activity Questionnaire

    Objectives: To develop a valid and reliable internet based lifestyle physical activity questionnaire suitable for use among the United Kingdom population. Methods: After a detailed content analysis and item generation using a panel of experts, an internet based measure of lifestyle physical activity behaviour was developed. Data were collected from 1369 subjects in total. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to examine the two subscales of the Brunel lifestyle physical activity questionnaire among independent samples and by use of multisample analyses. Results: The confirmatory factor analysis showed the psychometric integrity of two subscales: planned physical activity and unplanned physical activity. Conclusion: The questionnaire is a valid and reliable instrument designed to provide an online behavioural assessment to be used in conjunction with a 12 week personalised fitness programme delivered through the internet
