A model for interacting instabilities and texture dynamics of patterns

A simple model to study interacting instabilities and textures of resulting patterns for thermal convection is presented. The model consisting of twelve-mode dynamical system derived for periodic square lattice describes convective patterns in the form of stripes and patchwork quilt. The interaction between stationary zig-zag stripes and standing patchwork quilt pattern leads to spatiotemporal patterns of twisted patchwork quilt. Textures of these patterns, which depend strongly on Prandtl number, are investigated numerically using the model. The Patchwork Divergence Theorem

The divergence theorem in its usual form applies only to suitably smooth vector fields. For vector fields which are merely piecewise smooth, as is natural at a boundary between regions with different physical properties, one must patch together the divergence theorem applied separately in each region. We give an elegant derivation of the resulting "patchwork divergence theorem" which is independent of the metric signature in either region, and which is thus valid if the signature changes. PEMBELAJARAN LANGSUNG MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA REAL OBJECT DAN PENCAPAIAN KOMPETENSI SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PATCHWORK DI MTs MUHAMMADIYAH PEPE BANTUL

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran: 1) pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork di MTs Muhammadiyah Pepe Bantul, 2) pencapaian kompetensi siswa pada pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork di MTs Muhammadiyah Pepe Bantul, 3) pendapat siswa tentang pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork di MTs Muhammadiyah Pepe Bantul. Penelitian ini tergolong penelitian survei dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Variabel penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dan pencapaian kompetensi siswa dalam pembelajaran patchwork. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di MTs Muhammadiyah Pepe Bantul tahun akademik 2011-2012 yang sedang memperoleh pelajaran keterampilan sebanyak 13 siswa. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi, tes unjuk kerja dan angket. Jenis validitas dalam penelitian ini merupakan validitas konstruk, uji validitasnya menggunakan judgment expert, dan reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan alpha cronbach untuk lembar observasi dan angket sedangkan antar-rater untuk penilaian unjuk kerja. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif dengan presentase. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digambarkan sebagai berikut: 1) pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork dilaksanakan sesuai dengan tahap-tahap pembelajaran langsung dengan langkah -langkah sebagai berikut: guru membuka pelajaran, kegiatan inti, dan menutup pelajaran sesuai dengan rencana pembelajaran. 2) Pencapaian kompetensi siswa dalam pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork adalah sebagai berikut: ada 13 siswa (100%) tergolong pada kategori tuntas ( ≥ 7.00). 3) Menurut pendapat siswa pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork sebanyak 3 siswa (23,08%) tergolong pada kategori sangat tertarik, 7 siswa (53,85%) tergolong pada kategori tertarik, 2 siswa (15,38%) tergolong pada kategori cukup tertarik, dan 1 siswa (7,69%) tergolong pada kategori tidak tertarik mengikuti pembelajaran langsung menggunakan media real object dalam pembelajaran patchwork

PEMBUATAN ALAT PENILAIAN PEMBELAJARAN PRODUK KRIYA TEKSTIL SENI PATCHWORK

Studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan pada mata kuliah Kriya Tekstil Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Busana, diperoleh informasi bahwa alat penilaian untuk menilai produk kriya tekstil seni patchwork belum disusun dengan jelas, sistematis terperinci, dan tervalidasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat alat penilaian produk kriya tekstil seni patchwork yang lebih terperinci dan dapat dijadikan standar atau acuan oleh para tenaga didik dalam menilai hasil belajar peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode Research and Development, dengan melalui tahapan studi pendahuluan, pembuatan alat penilaian, uji validitas, dan tahap revisi. Alat penilaian kriya tekstil seni patchwork merupakan format penilaian produk kriya tekstil seni patchwork yang disusun berdasarkan beberapa indikator kriteria penilaian berbentuk rubrik penilaian daftar cek berupa penilaian produk, meliputi desain motif patchwork, ketepatan gambar desain motif patchwork sesuai dengan prinsip desain, ketepatan pemilihan bahan pembuatan produk seni patchwork, dan teknik jahitan seni patchwork. Hasil uji validitas yang dilakukan oleh ahli evaluasi dan ahli materi menunjukan bahwa alat penilaian produk kriya tekstil seni patchwork yang telah dibuat termasuk ke dalam kategori “Cukup Layak” dengan rata-rata presentase 70% dari ahli evaluasi dan kategori “Layak” dengan rata-rata presentase 99% dari ahli materi.
