The Importance of Needs Analysis in Materials Development
There is an issue which can be the subject of a further research that is: most learners of EFL do not actually have any needs at all. They are learning English because they have to rather than because they want or need to. This is particularly true of young learners, who are not going to need to communicate in English for many years to come (if at all). In such cases, the teacher is unlikely to be able to create much intrinsic motivation to learn English in general but can create the need in an engaging classroom task in which the students need to find a way of communicating in English in order to successfully complete the task. This can lead to readiness for acquisition provided the students are motivated by the teacher to read extensively as well. Thus, there should be more place for needs analysis because when we do not run the first principle to create and produce better materials, the rest will always be under great doubt. Every new teacher should consider starting their year applying needs analysis in small scales and then decide what the best is for themselves and their learners

To get the data, the researchers interviewthe visual impairments, the two volunteers who become their peer assistant them during learning process inthe university, and the lecturer who becomes the advisor of the visually impaired students. Besides, observation is also important to know the application of teaching practice in their real class. The observationis done by recording the teaching activity conducted by the visually impaired students. The results of theinterview and the observation are used to formulate the needs of the visually impaired students in teachingprocess in the real school. This study gives benefit not only for the students in preparing their teachingpractice, but also for the institution to accommodate the needs of the visually impaired students for theirteaching process
Training Needs Analysis for Non-gazetted Police Personnel: an Empirical Study of Commissionerate Police in Odisha
A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is used to assess an organization's training needs. The root of the TNA is the gap analysis. This is an assessment of the gap between the KSA components that the people in the organization currently possess and the KSA that they require to meet the organization's objectives. The training needs assessment is best conducted up front before training solutions are budgeted, designed and delivered. Professional policing promotes the rule of law and can support economic growth and improve the lives of the poor by protecting them from crime. The police personnel has a vital role in a parliamentary democracy. The society perceives them as custodians of law and order and providing safety and security to all. This essentially involves continuous police-public interface. In India, the police are often perceived as corrupt, ineffective and brutal, stemming from a plethora of systemic, organizational and behavioral challenges. Officers themselves report feeling unsatisfied, overworked and neglected by the system. The recommendations of the National Police Commission (1977-81) have suggested several measures to improve the standard of policing; however, seldom have they been implemented by successive governments. In the present study, four objectives have been formulated

Tailoring the curriculum to fit students’ needs: Designing and improving a language course at Dhaka University - Bangladesh
The assessment of students’ language needs is a crucial pre-requisite in EAP (English for Academic purposes) curriculum development. Effective needs analysis leads to the specification of objectives for a course at the same time considering the available resources and existing constraints. This leads to curriculum design and choice of
methodology, which is implemented through appropriately selected teaching materials. This paper presents the findings of a research study undertaken at the Business Studies Faculty of Dhaka University. A needs analysis was conducted on ninety students of three departments of the Business Studies Faculty to assess their English language needs. A corresponding needs analysis was conducted on faculty members to find out their perceptions of their students’ English language needs. Several procedures, namely
questionnaires, interviews and classroom observations, were used to gather information about the objective needs of the students and teaching staff. Analysis of the findings of
this needs analysis revealed that some perceptions of the two groups converged to some extent but there was also some incongruency that needed to be addressed. The EAP course that was being used was evaluated in order to negotiate a more effective curriculum that would address the needs of all the stakeholders involved
