Modernization of Education Contents of Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama, and Al Jam’iyatul Washliyah 1900-1942 in North Sumatera

This study aims to reveal how the process of modernization of education content on the organization Muhammadiyah, Nahdlatul Ulama and Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah years 1900-1942. The issues raised are: (1) how the historical background in modernizing education content of the three organizations; (2), how the modernization process of these organizations to arrange their education content; (3), how the these organizations dissemination of education content on the subjects. This is solved by historical method comprising the steps of: heuristics; second, verification; interpretation; historiography, and social history. The findings research informs: First, the three organizations have the same background in determining the education content, those are, first; the spirit leaders spreading Islam in accupation situation by orienting on Islamic education of the occupation, second; the intellectual contact internally an externally to conceive and build on the progress of Islamic education. Third; The strong desire to equate Islamic education progress with the western progress (colonization), fourth; The desire to realize the equality social among communities in receiving education and the world of work. The second finding is; the same formulate of education content material Islamic teaching that originated from AD and ART, but have different ways depending on modern education content. Muhammadiyah with revolutionary and Nahdlatul Ulama with evolutionary, and Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah with situasionery. the third finding is; the similarities of education content modernization process using a common and religious material. However they have differences on the distribution of the content in the subjects, Muhammadiyah is innovative and NahdlatulUlama is creative and Al Jam’iyatul Washliyah is very selective

The development of the European Higher Education Area has been a process of modernization in many universities. Teaching methodologies have undergone a process of continuous change to meet the demands for high quality leading to a need for enhancement in the learning assessment methodologies as well. The objective of this study is to analyse student´s academic performance measured through coursework vs. final exam and to ascertain the factors that could explain the difference. Regression and variance analysis are carried out over the grades and responses to a questionnaire on a sample of 298 students of different subjects in a Spanish university. A Comparison of Teaching Models in the West and in China

Models of teaching commonly used in the West and in China are analyzed and compared, using an analytical approach that systematically considers different aspects of the models. The purpose of the exploration is three-fold: (a) to create better understanding of both Chinese and Western models, for mutual insight and to strengthen the development of pedagogical theory building in China; (b) to guide a joint project between the Netherlands and China relative to the development computer-related learning resources for China; and (c) to contribute to better overall understanding of how instructional resources can be adapted for use in both Western and Chinese situations. The analysis provides a contribution for each of these goals

The English Curriculum in the People's Republic of China

The status and role of English as a school subject in China has fluctuated wildly because of its desirable but sensitive connotations. English is the language of world trade and communications, which makes its study an important strategy in implementing internationally-oriented policies for "modernization", while its historical overtones of imperialism, capitalism and even barbarianism are unwelcome for those who prefer more self-reliant and isolationist approaches. This paper traces the career of the English curriculum in China since 1949, with particular reference to the junior secondary school curriculum, through an analysis of the national syllabus and textbooks. It identifies five distinct periods and analyses the major forces of curriculum change, the dynamics of curriculum design, and the principal features of models for change in each of the periods. It is argued that the overall process of policy-making, and curriculum development specifically, has been characterized by a complexity and pattern of development which is not adequately recognized in existing portrayals that have focused on the relationship between macro political shifts and educational policies, and have emphasized the role of the state

Тенденции подготовки студентов в Европейском Союзе: нормативно-правовой аспект

The article presents the current trends in the preparation of students in higher education in the EU. These trends are identified on the basis of the analysis of legal documents (legal acts of primary and secondary law), which reflect the EU response to contemporary global changes in education: globalization and marketization. These processes require from higher education to provide new approaches to the training of students in accordance with labour market demands. With this in mind, the author focuses on the process of teacher training as well.У статті представлені сучасні тенденції в процесі підготовки студентів вищих навчальних закладів в Європейському Союзі. Реакція вищої освіти на глобальні зміни (глобалізацію та маркетизацію) у світі була відображена у важливих законопроектах, деклараціях, договорах та актах вторинного права, які лягли в основу нормативно-правового регулювання політики взаємодії вищої освіти з ринком праці в ЄС. Важливим елементом цієї політики є процес підготовки студентів вищих навчальних закладів, особливо процес підготовки вчителів, оскільки їх функція виграє значну роль у формуванні нового покоління «суспільства знань». Відповідно зміни у вищій освіті першочергово вплинули на процес підготовки студентів вищих навчальних закладів, що й було закріплено на законодавчому рівні ЄС. У законодавчих актах від вищої освіти вимагають впроваджувати нові підходи до підготовки студентів з урахуванням вимог ринку праці. Автором проаналізовано Постанови Ради та Міністрів освіти 1976, 1980, 1982 та 1985 років «Про поліпшення підготовки молодих людей для роботи та для полегшення їх переходу від освіти до трудового життя», які є правовою базою початку формування сучасної політики підготовки фахівців, основаної на взаємодії вищої освіти з ринком праці. Вони вказують на спробу ЄС сформувати наднаціональну уніфіковану політику в області підготовки студентів відповідно до вимог ринку праці. Здійснено вивчення нормативно-правового регулювання політики підготовки студенів на національному рівні. Зроблено висновок, що у нормативно-правових документах ЄС та держав-членів чітко простежується напрям трансформації вищої освіти для того, щоб її пропозиція (випускники) відповідала ринковим потребам (робочі місця).В статье представлены современные тенденции в процессе подготовки студентов высших учебных заведений в Европейском Союзе. Данные тенденции выявлены на основе анализа нормативно-правовых документов (законодательных актов первичного и вторичного права), в которых отражена реакция Европейского Союза на современные мировые изменения в образовании: глобализации и маркетизации. Эти процессы требуют от высшего образования внедрять новые подходы к подготовке студентов с учетом требований рынка труда.
