Інтерпретація – можливість надання витвору мистецтва характерних рис, якого-небудь стилю, особливостей нової манери виконання, що передбачає не лише надання йому нових ознак, а й збереження першооснови. Робота над обробкою має бути поетапною, продуманою, адже інтерпретація - це засіб збагачення народного танцю новими засобами та формами хореографічної виразності.Интерпретация - возможность предоставления произведения искусства характерных черт, какого-либо стиля, особенностей новой манеры исполнения, предусматривает не только предоставление ему новых признаков, но и сохранение первоосновы. Работа над обработкой должно быть поэтапной, продуманной, ведь интерпретация - это средство обогащения народного танца новыми средствами и формами хореографической выразительности.Interpretation - the opportunity to create a work of art of characteristic features, any style, features of a new manner of execution, which involves not only giving him new features, but also preserving the original. STYLISTIC IN JAVANESE URBAN LEGEND STORIES: A CASE STUDY IN RUBRIC ALAMING LELEMBUT IN PANJEBAR SEMANGAT MAGAZINE

Folklore as a part of literature has an important role in society. As the interpretation of culture in the society, folklore is called by the culture of idea. Urban legend as a tale of contemporary folklore is often designed to elicit an emotional response from the audience. It is about some horrific, ironic, or exasperating series of events that supposedly happened to a real person. Javanese urban legend has a close relationship with the life of Javanese people and it influences Javanese people‘s point of view and way of thinking. While, stylistic is the study of the usage of language in literary works, by considering the social background and communication value of the literary work. The aim of this study is to analyze the stylistic in Javanese urban legend stories. The data were taken from rubric Alaming Lelembut in Javanese magazine Panjebar Semangat. Alaming Lelembut is a rubric which contains Javanese urban legend stories. The data were four stories which were already published in 2011. The data were analyzed by using the stylistic theory. The result shows that by using Ngoko Alus in telling the stories, the message of the story could be delivered to the reader and it could reinforce the message of urban legend. As the representation of Javanese culture, the usage of Javanese original terminologies for urban legend characters brought their own message to the reader and those words delivered the message to the society

Storytelling, Folktales and the Comic Book Format

The reading process in comics is an extension of text. In text alone the process of reading involves word-to-image conversion. Comics accelerate that by providing the image. When properly executed, it goes beyond conversion and speed and becomes a seamless whole. In every sense, this misnamed form of reading is entitled to be regarded as literature because the images are employed as a language. There is a recognizable relationship to the iconography and pictographs of oriental writing. When this language is employed as a conveyance of ideas and information, it separates itself from mindless visual entertainment. This makes comics a storytelling medium

Contextualizing the Writings of J.R.R. Tolkien on Literary Criticism

This essay offers a reinterpretation of Tolkien\u27s writings about literary criticism, which are focused on Beowulf, fairy stories, and his own works. Whereas his writings have often been taken to mean that analytic scholarship is not valid and should not be pursued, my essay takes the intellectual climate of the time into consideration and offers an alternative interpretation, according to which he did not mean to forbid these studies outright and indeed intended that scholars should continue writing them. The essay ends with a call to academics not to be discouraged by his strong language from producing analytic studies
