Fiske Steps and Abrikosov Vortices in Josephson Tunnel Junctions
We present a theoretical and experimental study of the Fiske resonances in
the current-voltage characteristics of "small" Josephson junctions with
randomly distributed misaligned Abrikosov vortices. We obtained that in the
presence of Abrikosov vortices the resonant interaction of electromagnetic
waves, excited inside a junction, with the ac Josephson current manifests
itself by Fiske steps in a current-voltage characteristics even in the absence
of external magnetic field. We found that the voltage positions of the Fiske
steps are determined by a junction size, but the Fiske step magnitudes depend
both on the density of trapped Abrikosov vortices and on their misalignment
parameter. We measured the magnetic field dependence of both the amplitude of
the first Fiske step and the Josephson critical current of low-dissipative
small based Josephson tunnel junctions with artificially introduced
Abrikosov vortices. A strong decay of the Josephson critical current and a weak
non-monotonic decrease of the first Fiske step amplitude on the Abrikosov
vortex density were observed. The experimentally observed dependencies are well
described by the developed theory.Comment: 21 pages, 7 figures, submitted to Physical Review
Phase Locking Between Fiske and Flux-Flow Modes in Coupled Sine-Gordon Systems
We investigate nonlinear resonant modes in coupled sine-Gordon systems with open boundary conditions. The system models coupled Josephson junctions with boundary conditions representing the situation where an external magnetic field is applied. The so-called Fiske modes are found to exist in phase-locked states where the equivalent voltages across the individual coupled Josephson junctions are either identical or identical with opposite signs. The analysis covers all Fiske modes including the flux-flow region. We present a comprehensive comparison between results on analytical treatment and direct numerical simulations of the coupled field equations

Error and symmetry analysis of Misner's algorithm for spherical harmonic decomposition on a cubic grid
Computing spherical harmonic decompositions is a ubiquitous technique that
arises in a wide variety of disciplines and a large number of scientific codes.
Because spherical harmonics are defined by integrals over spheres, however, one
must perform some sort of interpolation in order to compute them when data is
stored on a cubic lattice. Misner (2004, Class. Quant. Grav., 21, S243)
presented a novel algorithm for computing the spherical harmonic components of
data represented on a cubic grid, which has been found in real applications to
be both efficient and robust to the presence of mesh refinement boundaries. At
the same time, however, practical applications of the algorithm require
knowledge of how the truncation errors of the algorithm depend on the various
parameters in the algorithm. Based on analytic arguments and experience using
the algorithm in real numerical simulations, I explore these dependencies and
provide a rule of thumb for choosing the parameters based on the truncation
errors of the underlying data. I also demonstrate that symmetries in the
spherical harmonics themselves allow for an even more efficient implementation
of the algorithm than was suggested by Misner in his original paper.Comment: 10 pages, 3 tables, 1 figure. Version 2 has a broader introduction,
and includes additional information on choosing parameter
Dominasi Kuasa Kapitalis terhadap Buruh dalam Plot Film Sorry to Bother You Ditinjau melalui Semiotika John Fiske
Teori three codes of television milik John Fiske mengungkapnya melalui tahapan realitas, representasi, dan ideologi.
