Top Quark Production Cross Section
The production rate for top quarks at the Fermilab Tevatron is presented
using the exact order corrected cross section and the resummation
of the leading soft gluon corrections in all orders of perturbation theory.Comment: preprint FERMILAB-Pub-93/270-T, ITP-SB-93-55, THU-93/23, Latex 9

Antikaon production in nucleon-nucleon reactions near threshold
The antikaon production cross section from nucleon-nucleon reactions near
threshold is studied in a meson exchange model. We include both pion and kaon
exchange, but neglect the interference between the amplitudes. In case of pion
exchange the antikaon production cross section can be expressed in terms of the
antikaon production cross section from a pion-nucleon interaction, which we
take from the experimental data if available. Otherwise, a -resonance
exchange model is introduced to relate the different reaction cross sections.
In case of kaon exchange the antikaon production cross section is related to
the elastic and cross sections, which are again taken from
experimental measurements. We find that the one-meson exchange model gives a
satisfactory fit to the available data for the cross section
at high energies. We compare our predictions for the cross section near
threshold with an earlier empirical parameterization and that from phase space
models.Comment: 16 pages, LaTeX, 5 postscript figures included, submitted to Z. Phys.
Coherent Pion Production in Neutrino Nucleus Scattering
In this article, we study the coherent pion production in neutrino-nucleus
interaction in the resonance region using the formalism based on partially
conserved axial current (PCAC) theorem which relates the neutrino-nucleus cross
section to the pion-nucleus elastic cross section. The pion nucleus elastic
cross section is calculated using the Glauber model in terms of pion-nucleon
cross sections obtained by parameterizing the experimental data. We calculate
the differential and integrated cross sections for charged current coherent
pion production in neutrino carbon scattering. The results of integrated cross
section calculations are compared with the measured data. Predictions for the
differential and integrated cross sections for coherent pion productions in
neutrino iron scattering using above formalism are also made
Cross-Section Alignment of Oblate Grains
This paper provides a quantitative account of a recently introduced mechanism
of mechanical alignment of suprathermally rotating grains. These rapidly
rotating grains are essentially not susceptible to random torques arising from
gas-grain collisions, as the timescales for such torques to have significant
effect are orders of magnitude greater than the mean time between crossovers.
Such grains can be aligned by gaseous torques during the short periods of
crossovers and/or due to the difference in the rate at which atoms arrive at
grain surface. The latter is a result of the difference in orientation of a
grain in respect to the supersonic flow. This process, which we call
cross-section alignment, is the subject of our present paper. We derive
expressions for the measure of cross-section alignment for oblate grains and
study how this measure depends upon the angle between the interstellar magnetic
field and the gaseous flow and upon the grain shape.Comment: 24 pages, Post Script file. To appear in The Astrophysical Journal,

Uniqueness on the Class of Odd-Dimensional Starlike Obstacles with Cross Section Data
We determine the uniqueness on starlike obstacles by using the cross section
data. We see cross section data as spectral measure in polar coordinate at far
field. Cross section scattering data suffice to give the local behavior of the
wave trace. These local trace formulas contain the geometric information on the
obstacle. Local wave trace behavior is connected to the cross section
scattering data by Lax-Phillips' formula. Once the scattering data are
identical from two different obstacles, the short time behavior of the
localized wave trace is expected to give identical heat/wave invariants
A New Neutrino Cross Section Database
We describe a new web based data resource being developed to provide access
to accurate and validated cross sections of low energy neutrino and
antineutrino interactions. The proposed content of this database are outlined
which cover total and differential cross from inclusive, quasi-elastic and
exclusive pion production processes from charged and neutral current
interactions. Efforts to obtain these data, which come mainly from old bubble
chamber experiments, are described as well as the implementation of an
embryonic web site to make the resource generally accessible.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, To appear in the proceedings of the 3rd
