    THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENCE COMIC ON LIGHT TOPIC FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

    Joyful and interesting science learning now becomes the need of students nowadays. To support it, the development of creative learning media is necessary. This research is aimed to develop science comic especially in light topic for junior high school by considering four main aspects: Content, Artwork, Language, and Uniqueness, and to get the score in each aspect evaluated by experts and junior high school students. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative with survey method. Subject of the research are from content experts, artwork expert, language expert, and students from International private school and National public school. According to research result, it can be concluded that the development of science comic is content analysis, material-source analysis, aspects analysis, and comic making which is divided into outline & storyboard and creative process, and after the development there is evaluation from experts and students as to revise it; the content and language in this science comic is very good while the artwork is good, and the overall comic is considered very good by students; and the comic rating for content aspect is 3.25, artwork aspect is 2.64, and language aspect is 3.29, and based on students, the overall rating for all aspect including uniqueness is 3.2. Suggestions from the experts and students are used to revise this science comic until it meets expert’s criteria. Untuk mendukung itu, pengembangan media kreatif perlu diperhatikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan komik sains terutama di topic Cahaya untuk siswa sekolah menengah pertama dengan memperhatikan empat aspek: Content, Artwork, Language, dan Uniqueness, dan untuk mendapatkan penilaian dari masing-masing ahli dan siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan survei. Partisipan dari penelitian ini adalah ahli di bidang content, artwork, language, dan siswa dari sekolah berbasis Internasional dan sekolah negeri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan komik sains terdiri dari analisis konten, analisis sumber bahan, analisis aspek, dan pembuatan komik yang dibagi menjadi outline dan storyboard serta proses kreatif, dan setelahnya dievaluasi oleh ahli dan siswa; Content dan Language dari komik sains itu dinilai sangat bagus sementara Artwork bernilai bagus, dan secara keseluruhan dinilai sangat bagus oleh siswa; dan rating dari aspek Content adalah 3.25, Artwork 2.64, dan Language 3.29, serta menurut siswa, secara keseluruhan rating komik sains ini termasuk Uniqueness bernilai 3.2. Saran dari ahli dan siswa digunakan sebagai bahan revisi agar komik sains ini menjadi lebih baik dan sesuai kriteria. Kata kunci: komik sains, artwork, content, language, uniquenes

    : Comic is one of the books that consists of sequence pictures and text on the same page making it different from other books. It has visual language and metaphor that creates narrative stories through the drawings that appear in it. Visual language and metaphor consist of three important references namely iconic, indexical, and symbolic reference. This study aims at findings of students' understanding of semiotics by interpreting visual language and metaphor. The method used in this study is known as Descriptive Content Analysis which is describing in detail a certain text including characteristics and aspects in the text. Thus, 20 students of English Literature Department, UNM, were asked to write an argumentative essay. The instruments of this study are comic Peanuts: the Accidental Candidate and Humor Times Magazine. The result of the study has shown that students interpreted the visual language and metaphor by interpreting color in the comic that represents the symbol of a particular party, country, and royalty. In addition, students' writing showed that color is not only being the symbolic reference but also being the indexical reference. Cultural background affected students’ interpretation of visual language and metaphor. Keyword: visual language, visual metaphor, semiotic

    Власні назви як засіб творення комічного в українській поезії кінця ХХ ст.

    Досліджено використання власних назв як характерного засобу творення комічного з урахуванням стильової поліфонії й розширення тематичних меж поезії означеного періоду, представленого авторами кількох поколінь. Ана- лізований матеріал засвідчує актуалізацію творення різних видів комічного такого лексичного шару, як власні назви. Фактичний матеріал демонструє переважання різних шарів власних назв, які представлені елементами літературної мови, і позалітературної – розмовної. (Investigated the use of poetic okazalasb as a typical means of creating a comic with regard to the style of polyphony and the expansion of the thematic boundaries of the poetry of the period, represented by the authors of several generations. The analyzed material evidence update for the creation of a different kind of comic this lexical layer, as its own name. The actual material shows the prevalence of different layers okazalasb, which are represented by the elements of literary language, and outside literary – colloquial. Implementation of the comic in Ukrainian poetry of the second half of the twentieth century is in line with the trends of modern Ukrainian poetry in general, including the semantics of the poetic word. At the same time comic expression in language practice depends on the artist diastole, resulting in varying proportion of comic elements in the structure of artistic and aesthetic – of fortifications comic elements (poetry Stus, L.Kostenko etc..) to the beginning of the through ironic poetic text demonstrates artistic practice M.Danka, Neda and others unexpected. The predominance of a certain type of comedy – humor, irony, satire or sarcasm – a separate idiostyle depends on a number of linguistic and extra-linguistic factors such as facility comic evaluation, individual attitude of the author and his evaluation purposes. Among the lexical means of creating comic prevails evaluative vocabulary, which by its nature is able to convey most clearly the discrepancy between aspiration and reality, according to the author’s intention. Comic effect is most often based on the implementation of image-potential semantic lexical units assessment, which is supported in stylistic terms «collision» of usual and contextual values tokens or linguistic meaning and context. One of the important means of comic act proper names that are associated with cultural connotations or inner form which explicates comic beginning. Dominant poetic vocabulary of the sixties are place names – names of places of detention as an extremely emki characters in a satirical depiction of reality. Depending on the communicative and pragmatic goals poetic work the authors use their own names primarily for updating background knowledge. Traditionally, the authors use dumb that in sound design, internal form already have comic coloring. It is also important to assess comic names are associated with cultural connotations (as John Thomas), they are updated often in contexts that reveal the motive of national identity. Shows of the era, from antiquity, srednevekovja, Renaissance, and ending with the present time from the point of view of various scientists. Discusses the approaches of philosophers of the concept of the comic. Analyzed historical and philosophical options for interpreting the analysis of Comedy, as well as the nature of the problem the Comedy of life.
