Violation of Bohr's Complementarity: One Slit or Both?
We have implemented a novel double-slit "which-way" experiment which raises
interesting questions of interpretation. Coherent laser light is passed through
a converging lens and then through a dual pinhole producing two beams crossing
over at the focal point of the lens, and fully separating further downstream
providing which-way information. A thin wire is then placed at a minimum of the
interference pattern formed at the cross-over region. No significant reduction
in the total flux or resolution of the separated beams is found, providing
evidence for coexistence of perfect interference and which-way information in
the same experiment, contrary to the common readings of Bohr's principle of
complementarity. This result further supports the conclusions of the original
experiment by the author in which an imaging lens was employed to obtain
which-way information. Finally, a short discussion of the novel
non-perturbative measurement technique for ensemble properties is offered.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, Vaxjo University Conference, QUANTUM THEORY:

Community-campus partnerships for economic development: community perspectives
Formal collaborations between community groups and academic institutions to promote economic development have increased substantially over the past 10 years. The bulk of research on community-campus partnerships has focused on the experiences of institutions of higher learning and the foundations that have funded the collaborations, leaving a gap in our understanding of community experiences. This report draws on a variety of sources, including first-person interviews and academic literature, to bring out community perspectives on what makes for successful partnerships. The conclusions are presented as practical suggestions for community groups and campuses seeking to optimize partnerships. Four case studies describe lessons learned by participating community groups.Community development ; Universities and colleges
Use of alternative credit data offers promise, raises issues
Companies are beginning to use alternative credit data in a variety of ways for the purposes of making credit decisions. This article looks at the prospective benefits of using the new data, examines the potential usefulness of various sources of alternative data, and offers some considerations for lenders, consumers, and policymakers when these data are used.Consumer credit ; Credit ratings ; Credit scoring systems

New arguments for employer-assisted housing
In some parts of the country, innovation and experimentation have helped employer-assisted housing (EAH) programs gain momentum, providing New Englanders additional rationale for implementing these programs. This article describes how EAH works, its potential benefits, how it is being implemented around the country, and how our region can make better use of these programs to promote competitiveness and affordable housing.Housing subsidies ; Housing ; Housing - New England ; Employee fringe benefits

Reply to Comments of Steuernagel on the Afshar's Experiment
We respond to criticism of our paper "Paradox in Wave-Paricle Duality for
Non-Perturbative Measurements". We disagree with Steuernagel's derivation of
the visibility of the Afshar experiment. To calculate the fringe visibility,
Steuernagel utilizes two different experimental situations, i.e. the wire grid
in the pattern minima and in the pattern maxima. In our assessment, this
proceduere cannot lead to the correct result for the complementarity properties
of wave-particle in one particular experimental set-up
